INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT

I attended my Visa interview at the German Embassy Abuja earlier today. The interview proper started at about 8:20am with the submission of required documents, biometric data capture and payment of visa fee. Thereafter the VO, a very nice Lady, began to ask specific questions and inputted the answers I gave into her computer. The questions were basically the usual ones we've read in earlier transcripts (such as course, School and its location, facts about Germany as well as future plans after studies). Two of the questions asked however prove the point that one can never be too prepared for an interview. The VO asked about the research focus for my Masters thesis. Then she asked me to name just one text book i used during my undergrad days and its author. Easy questions but the element of surprise could trip one off.

Personal notes:

1) The German Embassy Abuja does not have a Paulinus-type character to check your documents prior to your interview. I arrived the Embassy around 7am and was told i was too early. I had to hang around the car park till 8:15am when i was ushered straight to the Visa section for my interview by security staff.

2) Unlike what Lagos transcripts indicate, Abuja does not hold on to your original certificates but will hold on to your passport after the interview. The VO told me that the DHL envelope i presented is not required for Abuja interviews as applicants would be required to come back to pick up their passport in person. I noticed the VO was particular about confirming that i reside in Abuja.

3) I presented a FINTIBA blocked account which i funded in May with 8640 euros. However i have been asked to transfer additional funds to make up 10236 euros and send confirmation via email to the Embassy. The VO explained to me that any student arriving in Germany after 1 September must have the new amount in his or her blocked account before resident permit will be granted.

4) I truly appreciate the courtesy and professionalism of every person i encountered at the Embassy, from the security guys to the VO. I thank God I didn't have to add unpleasant encounters to my pre-interview anxiety.

I wish all of us success in our DE quest.

I don't think it's only Abuja residents that get to have it there.

Again did you notice other ppl or it Was a walk into the office and leave scenario

Remember, you don't certify the original.
what you certify is the photocopies.
You only go with the original for sighting.
sometimes, they don't even look at it.

Peace!
Thanks a lot sir. Any high Court abi?

We are in the same shoe man. I had booked for appointment since May and I already blocked my account with some amount just to wait for date and complete the rest but AD no show. Nothing will happen to the money it's still yours and I always receive emails from Fintiba per time concerning my blocked account. Just a single mail will do for them to your intentions
Haryanfhe:
Good day everyone, being here for a while but hardly post. I've been having AD issues and now I'm thinking of deferring my admission till next year, (since no AD since June). The problem I'm having now is that I already funded my BA(a big mistake I made before joining NL), how can I unblock this money or can I leave the money there till next year? Also, If there's anybody that has experienced this before, I'll appreciate all help rendered, please I need your advice good people. Thank you
(I'm so sad but what can I do sad sad)

According to your testimony it took the embassy more than two weeks to issue your visa, did you fund after you were given the AM or before the AM?

Congratulatios to everyone who has gotten AMs, go there and excel. i wish to get a clarification to avoid rush hour period.

I wish to apply to more than 5 schools, hopefully i'll get admission in at least 2.
My question, in my application, i wish to apply for at least one basic MSC course like physics in other to get admission and start visa application. Is it possible to get switch from one course to a more preferable course during the application process?
secondly, assuming i started my visa application with physics, after visa is granted, but before leaving Nigeria i had a better offer from a different university over there. can i leave the former and go for the latter?

No amount of assistance is inconsequential.

Grüße

Who sends my academic transcript - my university in Nigeria or myself? Especially when I'm applying to several schools.

P.S.,

I have searched everywhere on this forum, but couldn't find this information. Would appreciate your help.

After AM!

And I think you should just take it easy with estimating when they’d get back to you. It could be as early as 2 weeks and as late as 8 weeks!

So you need to be calm!

You're supposed to get your transcript yourself so that you can send it to as many schools as you want.

Try to get your transcript handy, official or student copy, make copies and certify them at the German consulate, notary public or high court depending on which the school want, but if not specified then any of them could serve. Then send it with other requirements to the school you applying if required of you
