So he resigned just to please some people?

If only he knows how fast the living forget the dead, he will not live his life to please others.

Because i know that most of the greatest critics of Buhari administration will not hesitate to change their perspective if given the chance to serve in the same administration.

I don't support evil, but he should have use his new office to pass a message or make a change.
Exactly.

For those blaming him for resigning, he is not doing it to please anybody, he has something called honour and value which is not for sale, he doesn't believe in if you can't beat then you join them. He knows that the APC government corrupts and absolutely corrupts, therefore, if you want to eat with the devil, eat with a 599km long spoon.

There's a big difference between constructive criticism and abusing the government whether at the Federal or state level. This Seun Onigbide lost it the very day he deleted all his abusive tweets after accepting appointment from the same man u so hate with passion. People like him are anywhere belle face. Like Seun Onigbide like Festus Adedayo.

He bleeped up on so many levels

1. Taking the appointment - Hypocritical
2. Deleting his tweeter - Cowardice
3. Excusing his deletion due to data issues - Idiotic
4. Resigning his appointment - Bigger Cowardice

Good riddance to an unprincipled guy

This shows most Nigerians don’t like Buhari regime.
Re: Seun Onigbinde Resigns His Appointment. by seunmsg(m):
I’m not so happy he resigned. The experience would have helped him get a good understanding of how the public service works. It’s easier to stay by the side and criticize. When you’re in the system, you see things exactly the way they are and can then offer better and more realistic advice on how to move the system forward.

Sadly, he capitulated based of ordinary social media criticism. It’s not a good sign of leadership. It would have been better for him to reject the appointment at the initial stage than accept only to abandon the job after he was called out. He’s not a fighter and shouldn’t be trusted with any sensitive leadership position in the future.

Young people who go about badmouthing Buhari should also take note. Criticism should be strictly constructive. Whatever you say today can be used against you tomorrow. The internet never forgets.

He shouldn't have resigned. I hate liverless people. Just social media pressure and he gave up. He'd be such a useless leader. Marked his face now incase he comes in the future seeking any public office. Liverless mo.ro.n.

For real, this is a very stupid, irrational and unwise decision from Onigbinde, it's like trying to put toothpaste back into the tube. He should grow some balls and tackle issues head on, with his wealth of experience and professionalism, he would have being a great addition to the Administration instead of being a lackey for critics.

He has my respect. I have repeatedly said that working for Buhari's govt is not equivalent to serving your fatherland. Most technocrats have deserted this regime because they know it is a pothole and a trap waiting to tarnish all their good works.

True honour is derived from following and staying through to your calling, purpose, and the fundamentals of one's convictions. Not every chance is an opportunity and not all opportunities open the door to great success. Some doors only lead to a balcony where a fall is likely.

All Nigerians do is complain. Now, you're called to contribute to Nigeria you're still complaining.

You'll be surprised that those being critical of ur appointment won't think twice if offered

We live in a world where you criticize a system of failing to work and when given the opportunity to make the system work you resigned... Keep shouting around the corner, those critics of yours will definitely push you to hell soon.
Completely agree!

I think this was a huge mistake and missed opportunity to get someone into the budget process that has a track record of considerable credibility and understands how the system should be reformed. If he subsequently gets “frustrated” by the vested interests in the process, he can always leave and explain why, but to surrender even before the first shot in anger is a setback.

If good people avoid government or public service, then we shouldn’t be shocked when bad incompetent people take over.

I know the guy, i think he's a good guy.
However, the govt has achieved their aim on him. His credibility has been called to question and by resigning he helped them save salaries of severals months during which his integrity would have been smashed by them.
The FG should kindly give him a year's worth of salaries and emoluments.
In the end, I feel both ways for him but he should have stuck to his guns from the get go: stay out (sowore) or sit in when invitation accepted (keyamo)

he is making a big change already with BudgIT. He felt his appointment (especially with the social media uproar) will create an environment of mistrust with BudgIT especially as he had made statements in the past that he won't serve a Buhari government.

At the end he thinks integrity and trust are the most important ingredients of an change, hence his resignation.

What exactly is the crime in taking up a political appointment if a person feels he can effect positive change in the little office given to him?

Does working in govt mean a person must lick the ass of the govt?
