The fear of loneliness often makes us want to be with someone. No one wants to be alone, we all want someone we can call our own. Someone to be there for us in times of need, someone to talk to, share great moments together, share our joy and pain, relate our fears and past etc Sometimes we may have a whole family and friends around us and still feel lonely inside, like something about us is not complete. This drives us to want to attach ourselves to someone intimately and build a lasting relationship. It gives us a sense of companionship and being loved.

However, sometimes we find ourselves entangle in the wrong relationship, we get stuck with the wrong person and not knowing what to do. It gets nastier, we are taken for granted, disrespected and cheated on, but we still want to stay and see if we can change things for good. Most of the time we don’t succeed but we stay anyway for fear of being alone.

It is better to stay single and have complete control of your life than to be with someone who does not treat you right, is hardly there for you when you need them and does not care. There is no shame in quiting while you can, working on yourself if you have to and trying again. It is not your fault that they act the way they do and even if it is, they are supposed to be helping you become better not treating you like trash.

If you have found yourself in such relationship, realise that the more you stay, the more you loose your sanity. Pick yourself up, break out of that chain and breath a new air. You deserve better, always!
