Your analysis is good and accepted that as it stands today, lithium if affordable, should be the first choice of any AE enthusiast, I not exempted.

But come to think of this: There is every possibility that lithium can come much cheaper than all the offerings common in the market today, but do you know why merchants will rather pitch the price at the set point they put it? That calculation. Yes, that analysis you put up there. In fact, it's the same analysis that lithium manufacturers will use to justify a price set point and that is the set point passed on to re-sellers. Manufacturers and merchants exploit every opportunity for rapid ROI without recourse to some factors. But that's business and that's what it is.

You said it all at bolded. It's same thing everywhere even where we work at our various offices.

So decided to try out quanta battery.
Looks really well made and high tech.
Though observed slight swellings on the 3 compartments of the battery.....is this normal.

Abeg quanta users should chook mouth

2ndly the boost charge voltage spec on it is 13.8v, while float is 13.5v, this is about the lowest i have seen. And would spell disaster for folks fond of mixing diff batt makes.
My usual long batts hv boost of 14.6v and float of 13.7v

Hi Earthrealm,

its not really a big deal... just that the angle you snapped it from exaggerates it.

Quanta comes like that, with those "soft bulges". same with Safepower batteries... they're never smooth.

choooi, una no go kill person in this forum, many say the slight swelling is normal, many turn around and also say its not normal grin

@niyi, i bought from a highly reputable vendor on this forum, e dey even view the thread grin grin, based on looks the battery really looks well made, if its a fake..then those guys are jobless, the energy & tech they spent in faking the quanta is enough to produce an original good battery. wil buy many more quantas in the future, so i can make an exact comparison

las las, the aiyeeees have it.

If you are able, please post a picture with the battery terminals clearly showing then I would be able to give any additional perspective.

unfortunately, the install was in the village, am no longer there, would get a better pic, within the coming months, when i go there to check up the install. the pic i uploaded is the only pic i took. thanks for following up on the issue

See two pics below - one is the real deal, the other is not - I will let other experts weigh in.

i have had similr problem with a fangpusun mppt before, hence why i wanted to know the make.
did you adjust any of the settings recently?..like bulk/absorb/boost times
does it have a reset/ restore to factory button?, if yes activate it, that is what i did to my fangpusun, when i experienced similar issue

No, I haven't touched it. I didn't change any setting. I had thought it was because of the rains and I am not usually at home during the day.

I can't see any reset button.

True but ..... Best thing is for him to try maybe 1-100, first while continuing with us and then go back to where he stopped intermittently. The thing no easy o. I passed that road too

The reset /restore to factory default i mean, is done via the software.it has a screen abi?.
Seems its based on same architecture as gennex, zinox cc.
Check the manual on how to restore to factory default...or call ur installer to help you, if u cant..as u may need to return the batt voltage charge setpoints to their initial values after that

I am planning towards backup overhaul and have been eyeing Quanta batteries but it seem there are many versions of it. For instance the one you've shared has Quanta inscribed while that of earthrealm doesn't, why all the inconsistencies? (am assuming you both bought originals?)

Incase you're adventurous enough & willing to try the durable Bulgarian Monbat batteries "recent June production date" at a very good price , ring me up smiley

Pls make comments. Thanks.

A 2S2P battery (a battery is more than one cell) is made up of four cells in series/parallel configuration. If a 8000mAh battery has four 4000mAh cells of 12V each. Cell 'a' and cell 'b' would be connected in series to give 24V at 4000mAh capacity and the same will be done to cells 'c' and 'd' to give another battery of 4000mAh capacity at 24V. These two 24V batteries (ab) and (cd) are then connected in parallel to give one single battery of 8000mAh capacity at 24V.

This is my understanding until I began to wonder how 6s1p is connected.

6s1p will be= a, b, c, d, e, and f connected in series first and then (abcdef) connected to (d) in parallel? What is the resultant voltage if the batteries are 12v?

So since bigger capacity is our goal in solar, we can use our ingenuity to increase capacity but while doing so must not exceed voltage of inverter as it is already fixed based on what we opted for, 12, 24, 36, 48, etc.

The 6s1p you quoted isn't battery voltage but solar panel voltage, the inverter is connected to a 24v battery bank, the inverter is an hybrid(charge controller/inverter) with an mppt controller embedded causing the high solar voltage. You can't exceed an inverter's battery input voltage without causing total damage to the unit

You need six of it connected in series to give 12V and 12 pieces connected in series to give 24V.
