With a lot of intentional misinformation being passed around the last few days, a couple of emails I received and my responses mysteriously disappearing into the ether as they tend to do on Nairaland, I felt it necessary to be VERY clear on this topic. SO! Where do our parts come from? OUR PARTS ONLY COME FROM ONE PLACE ADVANCE AUTO PARTS/WORLDPAC/CARQUEST DISTRIBUTION. WE DO NOT SOURCE TOKUNBO OR NEW PARTS FROM NIGERIA. CUSTOMERS ARE FREE TO SOURCE THEIR PARTS AND BRING TO US FOR INSTALLATION BUT WE WILL NOT SOURCE THEM EXTERNALLY. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PNNqshboyY When a store is owned by an individual, it is a Carquest. When it is owned by corporate, it is an Advance. That being said, Carquest/Advance owns many brands and carries over 200 lines both OEM and aftermarket. Anyone who knows anything about the auto industry and car parts knows that parts are made all over the world so the specific part will be made wherever the brand manufactures their parts i.e. Bosch=Germany, MOOG=Japan,Monroe=USA, etc. Hopefully this brings clarity to some with questions. Why don't we have your part in stock and what happens when we source it? With so many car brands and so many parts, it would take about $4,000,000 to almost eliminate the need to import parts on the spot. So what happens when you need a part? Picture 1 First we check our inventory Picture 2 If it's not there, we check our distribution center (DC) in Ocala, FL Picture 3 If it's not there, we check one of the other 28 distribution centers across the country and Worldpac and Advance our sister companies Picture 4 Whoever has it sends it by UPS to our DC in Ocala to be transfered to our inventory, then Ocala sends it Houston where it goes via FedEx to Lagos. There were also some aspertions cast about remanufactured parts. Yes, I proudly annouce we do sell remanufactured parts as does the rest of the company. They are ALWAYS labeled as such and some even come with lifetime warranties in the USA. The idea behind this is that certain parts are typically rebuilt in the USA and sold to give people a cheaper equivalent to new. The customer is given the CHOICE where a remanufactured part is available.In some rare cases, a remanufactured one is actually MORE expensive than a new one which is why there is a core charge when you buy certain parts. But please, what happened to a 17 page thread titled "2010 Corolla Foreign used 54,000 miles" that was renamed to "Uneducated mad people seeking attention" on which you were accused by same gazzuzz auto to be selling fake parts? Love your energy, but the problem is that you are trying to combat ignorance, illiteracy and deliberate sabotage with information they can't understand or don't want to understand. Shebi we were here when full grown presumably educated person used the term 'clone' to describe original aftermarket parts. That's a level of ignorance you simply can't cure. It's a lot to deal with.
