He created a landing page that redirects you to a cloned Amazon website that redirects you to a cloned Payooneer website.
And the cloned payoneer website collects their credit card information.

Now it adds up.

Payoneer is his website? Intelligence at its peak! Considering this obvious 'inaccuracy' in this purported investigation, the guy might be doing a legit business. Unless, otherwise, the website he owns is a fishing site mimicking payoneer. Payoneer is a legit site.

I'm actually going to write to Payoneer and ask how it's possible that a hacker breached their credit card encryption system. I'm pretty sure if many people write to them about this concern, they'll release a press statement or even sue guardian newspaper. I'm hoping they sue, so they'll start employing Journalist that are credible and can use simple google search

Your explanation seems possible.
The Nigerian Police and EFCC should really do more. News like these portray them as crackheads
Re: Victor Ojionu: Yahoo Boy Who Bought N125m Houses During His NYSC, Confesses by 21success: 9:23am On Sep 25, 2019
He steals the details when the buyer wants to make payment through the so called payoneer because on amazon if you are a seller you have to set up a payment method suitable for you, there are lot's of legit business you can do on amazon like buying from ebay and selling on amazon,at least you will make up to $30 per day
Barryseal:

I hate cyber fraudsters but I have a feeling this guy is doing a legit buisness. He's an Amazon Kindle publisher and Amazon is a very protected site. No way he can set up a phishing site with a backlink to Amazon. He may have been tortured into admitting he set up "payoneer".
The guy will be walking home free if he gets a good lawyer. The illiteracy in our law enforcement rank and file is staggering. Most of them got into police with forged certificates.

The police or effcc or whichever security agent that arrested that guy are illiterate.

The guy is a legit internet marketer and he is also into ecommerce.

That guy is legit biko. This is just a framed up allegations by ignorant security operatives.

This is what we get when educated and well informed people stay out of politics of a nation.

That young man is not a fraudster.

All that glitters isn't gold after all. Look at that building, look at the wealth...that's someone role model by the way. Thumbs up EFCC. keep fishing them out as well as their collaborators.

Fighting crime and catching criminals is not that difficult particularly those that gain financial benefit from the proceeds of their crime,be it 419,Yahoo plus, rituals, kidnappers or politicians.
They can also easily be spotted and tracked:once a man or woman starts building houses and owning companies, his work and source of income should be identified,if he has or had a legitimate work, but his properties are far above or he has no noticeable source of income but is stupendously rich,it doesn't take any special investigation skill to know he/she is into something fraudulent.
Assets must at all times correlate with income source.

Do you know what payoneer is used for?

No one uses credit cards on payoneer.

Payoneer is used by freelancers, dropshippers and Kindle publishers to cash out their revenue.

Tech-savvy people are in trouble in this country.

Don't mind police, if to say Nigeria is a functioning country, I for like work with there detectives. I am a natural detector, I can actually trace some untraceables to the root. The guy did not design payoneer but may be he uses a redirecting link..

I don't know how people enjoy fraud money, any money I get without work looks valueless to me. Even when someone gifts me money, to thank am dey hard me, bc I didn't do anything and you are dashing me money.

Which kind of rubbish misinformation is this?

This news is so flawed that i feel the boy is innocent. He is probably an Amazon kindle seller getting paid into payoneer. or being a fraudster that he is. Decides to speed up his riches.

The part where he uses other people's credit card and the supposed credit cards should be revealed. How can you say he designed payoneer and gets paid into it. Does it mean Amazon was tricked?? lol

He cloned payoneer and collected credit card information. These guys will soon blacklist payoneer card in the streets now cos of misinformation like this

I've been screaming from the rooftops that Nigerians must insist that the EFCC and Co should do things the right way, but no. Too much poverty, frustration and bad belle have damaged the brains and souls of most Nigerians. That's what they applaud and shout 'crucify him' whenever any of these annoying EFCC burst stories come up.

Imagine this re ta rded story. That his latest 'victim' sent a petition to the Inspector General of Police, who then dispatched IGP team to 'trace' and arrest him. What a load of hot bullshit. Of course I'm sure the IGP team randomly accosted him or acted on the tips of a bad belle snitch, and then tried to extort him of huge sums of money. When he refused, they then abducted him and bundled him to the EFCC. Now the whole thing is about scapegoating him and extorting him. Even the whole purported 'confession' is hogwash, contrived by the policemen and EFCC themselves and forced down on him.

I hope he is able to get a good lawyer to fight the case rather than succumb to the intimidation, blackmail and extortion agenda of these EFCC and police bastards.

We don't know what we're setting ourselves up for in this country. The worst is yet to come.
