Your chance is very high but you must score high in UNN's post-DE screening too.

Its about admission through DE to UNN in MLS Dept from rufus giwa polytechnic, SLT dept. Is this possible and are u in Unn?

UNN accepts SLT graduate into her MLS program. The sole determining factor of you gaining admission lies on your screening score. You will be tested on Biology, Chemistry, English and Physics. Standard of the exam is JAMB format. 15 questions for each subject. Good luck.

wow! I think by God grace that would not be a problem. I heard that even though i have this, i still need to have deep legs. How true is this? Cause i have nobodo there, though i'm from Enugu state.

About Screening score, you should be looking at 280 and above to stand a chance. The first direct entry list is usual made up of 15 names. That is applicants with the top 15 scores are admitted and it is prolly base on merit. Other direct entry admission list are also released, but I do not know the rationale in which such students are selected for admission.
I will strongly advise you take JAMB to increase your chances.

I will recommend the following books for the screening preparation

1. Lamlad Chemistry
2. Lamlad Physics
3. Essential Biology
4. The Invisible Teacher (Use of English)
5. UNN Direct Entry Past Questions)
6. Myschool.ng online CBT practice
7. Other recommended textbook by JAMB

Thanks! Taking new jamb is also in my plan but the thing is that, if i should choose Unn again, will it affect d DE? Or i should just choose another sch like Unizik for same MLS?

You don't need long legs if you get a high score in the post-DE as I mentioned before. UNN is very transparent in giving admission once you merit it.

as a laboratory scientist, you can only collect samples and conduct tests. Drug prescription and patient management is not your responsibility

Why not go back to medical school and become a medical doctor so that you can do all these things you mentioned above? It's not the responsibility of a medical laboratory scientist to diagnose a disease and then prescribe drugs for it. You can only acquire those skills in medical school. A medical laboratory scientist is not licensed to do those things.

You can't give what you don't have. This is a medical doctor's job, particularly a cardiologist's. Can you also interpret the x-ray or order for the correct x-ray? Can the pharmacist, nurse and medical laboratory scientist there interpret or order for the appropriate tests such as x-ray or scan? The nurse's knowledge is even limited here except he/she is trained in Interventional or emergency nursing. Even at that, he/she can't do enough. Go back to medical school. Don't do a medical doctor's job and in the process, kill patients. It's a sin!

he hisgrin grin.

All health professionals are in place to complement each other for the wellness of the patient. Everyone is equally essential, just that they play different roles.
A professionals role shouldn't be substituted for another.

Not all treatment requires the aid of a Medical laboratory scientists, sometimes you need the help of a radiographer.

having a pharmacy and Medical laboratory in the same premises does not equate to a full fledged hospital. please be guided and know the roles each individual on the healthcare team should play

You can in a back shop. In Naija anything goes. Ideally you shouldn't and in any other country you'll loose your license if caught doing such. Cheers
