Hello please can you share your hospital details and state please. Thank you and congratulations

didismyname:
Ok in the spirit of giving back. I will like to share my story. I recently renewed my visa.

2016 got a B1/B2 Visa for my family. We had our vacation June 2016 and stayed for a month. 2017, I got pregnant and I did the change of intent. Had my baby Dec 2017 and got back April 2018. Did dropbox Feb 2019 and I got the almighty 221G letter after 8days.

Scheduling a follow-up interview was tasking but by end of March I checked my status and the whole of April was available. I picked end of April to give me ample time to prepare for the interview. My hospital bill for birthing was about $9250 excluding lab. Got all my zero receipts and kept reading this thread on nairaland.
On the D-Day. I set out with all my documents even carried my LO blue passport as I saw on this thread with her BC. Infact I was more than ready, had my itemized bill, zero receipts, 6month payslips, statement of account, letter of introduction from my office...my people I even carried my recent promotion and recommendation letter
Guess what? absolute nothing was asked other than my receipts, itemized bill.
In my opinion, I think is the confidence that one exudes during interview goes a long way, be sincere and look them in the eye. Try not to stutter.
I mean everyone on my queue during my interview time was not given a visa, I was scared but I told myself that I will give my best smile and be as confident as I can.
Visa was granted.
Grateful to God.

Please Qei2u dear. Can you help with the website?

Qei2u:
You people are ceeating unnecessary panic

This is a first step to modyfying the rules but as of this new drama it does not affect birthright citezenship,it affects ur grand kids if they are not born in the us or if your kids never lived in the usa for 5years of which 2 of those 5 years must be after age 14.

Go to their website and read the head of the organization did an interview and said it does not affect birthright citizenship

To abolish birthright citizenship an amendment or wxecutive order is needed

The new rules affect ur grand kids if they are born outside usa,ur kids didnt school in usa and ao dint live up to 5yra here hope this clarifies d tension!

In fact if you ever get a green card or citizenship you can transfer to your grandkids if ur kids dont meet the criteria ,as long as you have lived in the usa for 5 years

Hello people.

Please I need advise on the forward. Below is the issue summary.

I renewed my B1/2 visa via Dropbox in November 2017 and discovered I was pregnant in January 2018. I make enquiries about cost and possible hospitals. My search led me here in April 2018 and I joined the thread.

A month to my travel date I sent the intent mail and got the automated response.

At the Poe I declared child birth and vacation. The officer asked why I came a lone and told him my husband and son will come in a month. No further question was asked. I used Henrico Doctors Hospital Richmond. And total hospital cost came to about 7000.

My visa will be expiring in November and I intend travelling in December so I applied early and was refused together with my husband and son.

The VO said it wasn't documented that I declared child birth as purpose of visit and that the Csection shouldn't have costed that little even when she saw the clearance letters saying i wasnt given any govt grant. I also didn't say anything about the change of intent mail I sent at this interview cos i wasnt given the chance it was very brief.

So I want to reapply and intend presenting the mail and my itemized bill which wasnt requested at this interview.

Please any suggestion and advise will be welcomed. Thank you all

Hey guys just thought to share this piece of information.

I have a close friend who has just had her baby in the US ,right now she is really upset as she was told her child will not have US citizenship unless the child remains in the US for the next 3yrs,. I did not know this is already taking effect, I thought it was after October 29th

Hmmm, she should ask well. There is no law stating that a child must stay for 3 years.

@twinboyandgirl

The sound of "very affordable" is why I'm responding to you. This VO's of nowadays don't want to use ear or eye and see any thing called "affordable" be guided. As for Houston, there are lots of people that offer accommodation services, search well, you will find lots of them and make your choice.

False. And babies born after October 29th will not have to remain for 3 years to have US Citizenship.
Numerous statutory provisions related to citizenship require applicants or their U.S. citizen
parents to “reside” or to have had a “residence” in a particular location. USCIS is updating the
Policy Manual to better define residence and clarify the distinction between U.S. residence and
physical presence.

Clarifies that temporary visits to the United States do not establish U.S. residence and
explains the distinction between residence and physical presence in the United States.

Please read the first paragraph of the policyin the link you pasted. (The purpose)

The policy is for US govt employees or US citizen residing outside the US.

This is not for children born in the US either by temporary visitors or permanent visitors

Comprehension is very key!

This excerpt below was copied from the documents you ref........ what explanation do you have for that?

2. Special Considerations

Various circumstances may affect whether USCIS considers a person to be residing in the United States, and therefore whether a U.S. citizen may transmit citizenship to his or her children.

U.S. Citizens who were Born, But Did Not Reside, in the United States
A U.S. citizen may have automatically acquired U.S. citizenship based on birth in the United States, but never actually resided in the United States. This U.S. citizen will not have established residence in the United States, and may be unable to transmit U.S. citizenship to his or her own children.

This clearly refers to parents who are US citizens na not foreigners.
It talks about the US citizens who di not reside in the US may not be able to automatically transmit citizenship to their child/children

My friend used oakbend. Renewed last year though.
I plan to use oakbend as well but been hearing somethings about denial from a lady who is an agent for Visa application.

So I may go with Houston Methodist or memorial Hermann.

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Nobody: 3:13am On Oct 02, 2019
3. Evidence
A U.S. citizen who was born in the United States generally meets the residence requirement as long as he or she can present evidence to demonstrate that his or her mother was not merely transiting through or visiting the United States at the time of his or her birth. For example, a long form birth certificate is sufficient evidence if it shows a U.S. address listed as the mother’s
residence at the time of the U.S. citizen’s birth.

If a U.S. citizen’s birth certificate indicates that his or her mother’s address was outside of the
United States at the time of the birth, USCIS may find that the U.S. citizen does not meet the
residence requirement unless the U.S. citizen can prove U.S. residence.
