Good question, please any experienced person should please answer this question... Am also concerned about it cos my school resumes by October 1st, have been enrolled............. It remains only appointment date to be scheduled........Do we need to cancel the former appointment date by the end of September and rebook for another one or what??....,.......Thanks

madenigga:
I booked an appointment since September 3 under category B, I have blocked since July, this is my second booking after I canceled the first one. I deferred my admission to Feb 2020.

Is it true that by the end of September we should all cancel our appointment and book again or I should leave it at the September 3rd booking, please I need a reply as I have already blocked my account and that huge money leaving me has cost me a lot yet I can't get a date.

I also will like to be a part of the process from now, ur appeal.
But please do get an extension of not less than 6 weeks.
The waiting time can be shorter or longer than the 6weeks.
Rejection is not actually a concluded case, sometimes is actually part of the test of your conviction.
I have seen tremendous success there

Ok chief

Do not be depressed. Not when there’s still a way out of this. You’ll have to get a strong appeal, re package your documents and Am will come.
From what i can decipher you are going for a second Bsc. And you didn’t fund before the interview. Also your intended bsc seems unrelated to the proposed course of study. You may have failed to do justice to that in your motivation letter/ interview or not done enough.

You should write a stronger motivation letter and try to bridge that gap. You should be able to convince why you’ll be going for another bsc that is unrelated ( as the case maybe). Attach your BA confirmation and your docs send them and keep praying. Since your enrollment deadline is oct 30th there is still ample time if this can be done at the earliest.
In this German waka giving up is not an option.
There are some persons on this platform who’ve successfully scaled through the same hurdle.
Cc fabcol, sassy.
And also get proof of enrollment deadline from the school and add to your documents

I beg you all please stop indicating any interest to stay in germany for a period more than the partcular study you are going for in the Visa Application, be it for Further Studies or anything. even when the VO tries to convince you to further ur studies, convince her/ him how your intention after ur study is to come back and get a Job or start up something. A friend was denied Visa also because he stated his intention to proceed with his PhD. NO! The Embassy expects you to finish one study, return to ur home country and not applying for further studies and scholarships. Please desist from that Trap
amikable97:

I don't think the PHD question was a trap because he said he wants to go into academics so going further with his PHD is also in line... For now no one knows why exactly his application was rejected, but the other option now is to appeal and back it up with prayers...

Do you mind telling us the actual reason that was stated in your Rejection letter. meanwhile since your MSc Chemistry is in line with your BSc Chemistry, i think u have a good chance at appealing, but please during your next interview do not in any way make the VO suspect that you have another intention/motive aside your Msc Chemistry Study in Germany, be it study related or otherwise. No Ma i am not interested in pursuing a PhD Course at this time as my intention is to return to Nigeria after my MSc to establish a Laboratory/work /teach/ research and garner more experience in my Field

However she suggested the PhD along with scholarship.

I really don't think it's about the PhD. @heybaby mentioned that she told her VO that she has no intention of returning to Nigeria till she reaches the peak of her studies; this is someone that was going for another Bsc in her 30s. Today she's in Germany. So clearly PhD is not the issue.
Sorry to those who received rejections, it can be really devastating. But thankfully so many useful suggestions have been given and I'm sure there'll be breakthroughs. It is well.

"Due to your information provided on application, there are doubts in your case about the stated purpose of travel. In doing so, you were unable to plausibly demonstrate your intentions to study. The discretion could not be exercised in your favor. The application must therefore be rejected. The remaining grant requirements were not final"

She suggested PhD along with scholarship for that and I only agreed.
Thanks for your care.
it's well.

My opinion on the returning back to Naija thing is that it might differ from VO to VO. For any visa application interview to any country it's best to let them know you don't intend to stay longer than the purposed visa application. I think that point about what you'd be returning to do after studies should be in the motivation letter also. By the way this is my opinion based on what I've noticed with visa applications. It might not be the cause of the rejection but it could be a part of the solution. It will end in praise in Jesus name. Amen

I’m facing same too, but from all my researchs, I’ve noticed that your degree/course matters. What’s your degree if I may ask? There are schools that doesn’t need the test but it depends on the course. Some courses are very limited with that opportunity.

Welcome to the thread. Every information you need to start is on the first page of this thread. Go to DAAD/Wikipedia/Google and search for your intended course of study. Find out if the course is being offered for summer semester, their application requirements, mode of application and application timeline. Start gathering your documents too. And read through the thread, there's an immense wealth of knowledge here. All the best!!

Honestly, no one can give a concrete answer on this. You can either:
- Cancel your appointment and rebook next week.
- not cancel and hope and pray the embassy will release dates after purging their system.
The choice is yours.

Let me quickly give you guys a tip.

Always be consistent in your motivation letter and your answers during interview.

Most people say different things during interview and it interprets to be lies. Two of the cases I've handled confirm it.

Writing is a skill. If you have to pay for it; pay. Almost all the emails I have written was replied.

Thats absolute not true!! your staying back all depends on the motive. They know there are genuine reasons of which PhD is one. Let your your plans after studies in your motivation letter correspond also to what you tell the VO
In ma case, I clear told the vo that i will want to continue with PhD after my studies. He asked where and I told him either in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. This is because the impact I want to make in my country, the master degree is not enough to give me the technical/scientific knowledge.
There are also instances where you can tell them after study, You will like to work or do research to gain more experience that you take back to your country. In this case you need to back up with good SOP and good explanation.

I got my AM in 3 weeks.

Let me also add that my VO Is the woman in dreads that everyone has been scared of.

Pay to write?

They reply mails when dey can. What is skilful about writing a mail?

I believe above all it's paramount we emphasize on honesty.

And we need to rethink this whole interview thing critically cos nah money up front before you get screened from now on

Maybe the consulate has caught up with the old formula

I don't think that's entirely true. I stated that I wanted to get a PhD degree in Germany when I was done with my Msc then come back home to Nigeria and lecture. Every VO has their own discretion I guess.
