My system has been infected with a virus

I think I got it when I was trying to download something online

The virus has messed up my system and nothing works again

Keyboard doesn’t work

I bought external keyboard, it worked for a while, now the virus has corrupted the external keyboard and it doesn’t work again.

If I click on a file or folder, it opens hundred times till the system screen is covered and the system hangs.

If I wanna install a file, the virus doesn’t allow it. Hence installing a virus remover is very difficult

I have scanned the system endless times with the exiting antivirus that was on the system before and it detects nothing, meaning the virus has a strong persistence

I can’t connect to the internet, connecting to the internet has been disabled.

Mouse doesn’t work again too, I bought external

If I try to open softwares, it crashes and doesn’t open

Many other things I cannot remember

My friend are saying it may not be a virus, that maybe my system is old and I need a change.

But what can cause a system to have all these faults at once if not a virus.

What is the OS?

Use the windows key on the keyboard

Type osk to use onscreen keyboard

Get another HDD and install a fresh OS with a good anti virus application installed, then get an external HDD case for the infected drive and connect it to the system for deep scanning. You can as well just prefer to copy your important files and format afterwards.

Get Ubuntu, your can use a friend's system download it and burn to CD, set your system to boot from CD, don't install Ubuntu, rather run from CD. You'll not only see the virus to delete, you can also copy the files you need. If you're unable to do the above, pay a technician. NB: I've just given you a huge trade secret.

Remove the hdd and connect it to another pc. Copy your files to the other pc. You must change ownership of thhe file folders before windows will allow you to copy from your hdd to the other computer. After you suCcefully copy your files return thhe hdd to your computer and restart it while holding shift button. You can run a system complete recovery in the advance option. This will work from windows 8. I hope this helps you.

Let me just help you with hints; google them if you haven’t done Dem before.
On windows 7 try to restore to an earlier date before the virus manifested to this level .
On windows 8,8.1 and 10 try and reset the pc without affecting your files. If none of this works, recommended to take your pc to a professional .

The system has more than virus. There are Worms and Malware running at the background of the system.

Thats what I’m thinking too. But I’ve got two questions

1. What will happen to my files - they are important to me
2. What if the hardware is damaged already? And after installing the new OS, the issue persists
3. How can I even install a new OS when everything on the system is fluctuating i.e Keyboard doesn’t work

virus do not affect hardware. install a good antivirus like Kaspersky. boot your system in safe mode to do that.

For your important files, install a new os without formating the system.
When is done, access the previous user through the (local dick c), retrive your stuffs and then format.
Always partition your hard drive incase of emergency

1. You don't have to do it yourself, tell the engineer or the person doing the formatting to partition your hard disk into a smaller size depending on how big the files you want to backup. In doing so it won't affect any of your files only your installed apps will be deleted.

2 . Reboot your system, and press f9 to boot into safe mode and see if your keyboard and mouse will work without any issues. If it work, than all you need is a fresh window installation, if it doesn't work let me know.

3. It is very simple, i can even give u instructions on hownto do it wen you are ready.

1. Boot into safe mode (by pressing f8 key after startup, go to safe mode), backup your data and format ur device.

2. If you do not have full control of your computer using peripherals (mouse & keyboard), try installing teamviewer on your computer & phone. It allows to take full control of your PC through your mobile phone. You can then do a backup and format it.

3. Try doing a system restore to a previous working state (by pressing f8 key after startup go to recovery)

All your file will remain untouched. The key touches may differ from different OS. Try and always have an updated antivirus to prevent another occurrence.

Baba get a USB or windows installation cd and format your PC.

you don't need to Partition anything, to save old files.

Just install it ontop of the existing drive, your old files will be stored as "windows.old", there after you can copy it back.

You can do it yourself., it's as simple as AbC

I have done this several times.

As a good practice courtesy of CompTIA Security +
it's good to Partition ones drive into two places
one for O.S installation and
one for Files storage
so if the virus attacks a drive involving the OS, you are rest assured the drive for files are intact

Also in times like this, Good practice from CompTIA S+ says
- Run antivirus in safe mode as not all services will be active
- Slave the HDD to a non production PC (test pc) and scan for malware
- Do a system restore.

It is clear that you cannot access your system, the virus has increased the RAM and processor utilization, denied you access to make use of the mouse and keyboard.
Solution one: removed the Harddrive and connect it to a hard drive connector depending on your drive (SATA/IDE) connector, connect it to a system with a valid antivirus pay for and with the latest update. you should be able to salvage some of your files through this method.
Solution Two: Try to install a new OS on the system that is if you still have space left on your drive. After the OS installation, you will find a file called "windows. old" your files will be residing here. please make sure to install antivirus first immediately after the OS installation. Again you can salvage your files and you can proceed to a clean OS install.

Open yr system and remove ur hard disk get a better system with anti virus installed. Save ur stuff in d system or external hard disk. Then format ur goddamn system

Get the latest AVAST, and your problem is guaranteed to be solved
I haven't seen a virus that is stronger than AVAST especially if you can get the premium version

Format the system and move on
