After the xenophobic attacks on MTN their data is nothing to write home about, I was 14,543 airtime and 4gb as data on my phone... just 3hours interval my airtime was reduce to 3435 and my data 0:00
I made a complain to mtn customers care center until today nothing has be done, today again similar thine happen. I just have to buy airtel sim today bcus I don't get it

Wrong,mtn once wiped my data accidentally, went to check data usage and the usage was accurate,i was shocked,mtn usually wipes data at an alarming rate but the one of that day was baffling to say the least,they later apologized and restored my data,they are in control of your of data usage stats.

People are missing a lot on this data bundle consumption stuffs. No network provider offers you a longer lasting data bundle or something like that. The issue is with the way internet devices are advancing. You are on a video call with a person using a 13mp camera and you expect data consumption to be same as a camera of 1.3 mp. When I was using my Nokia 5200, 100mb costs 1k and lasts a whole month and u can't exhaust it. Back then internet is basically texts and pictures snapped with 0.3mp camera. Hardly is one picture snapped with phone camera more than 100kb in size. Fast forward to now, the internet has become so advanced that web pages have video players embedded all playing different graphics and pictures have become better from high resolution devices producing pictures of upto 2mb. 1 GB now lasts only 2 days for me as a result. Best you can do is to downgrade your connectivity broadband so that instead of using 4G which energises all the graphics scripts in webpages to be active you use 3G and consume less. With 5G network, 1Gb can't stay more than 24hrs.

You nailed it bro but the truth is that these foreigners who creates this technology makes it easy for those there to get good data subscription that fits their technology but Africans are so backward in all they do. My brother in Germany told me data subscription over there is very cheap and affordable. We are really suffering before you can enjoy the net you've to sub from 20k upwards in a month which is crazy this days.

Thank you for the input. Our economy is bad. I'm sure your brother also enjoys free WiFi in restaurants, coffee shops and rail way stations. Here, only in good hotels. Network service providers need to reduce pricing and increase data cap. It's with time anyway.

I use Glo 4G sim and usually stream live matches. A full match consumes about 400MB. One day I had signal problems with Glo so I swapped my Glo sim for Airtel 4g and proceed to watch a football match on the same phone...... 1GB exhausted at 78mins into the match.

I quickly checked my data consumption reader which showed I used about 420MB. Leave your analysis out when it comes to Network providers in Nigeria. I use Samsung Galaxy Note 9

I once made a video call with my friend who is in Russia for good 2hrs+ on a 13mp camera and on Airtel 3G network and it only consumed 177mb fast forward to Glo and MTN I didn't even talk that much and boom 100mb is gone with in 10mins

I vend data, when people make such complaints, I simply ask them where they visit on the internet. We are in the era of pictures, videos etc. On WhatsApp, pictures, videos et al are automatically saved unless you set otherwise.

So many things we do on the internet gulps data. To enjoy surfing the internet in this part of the world, increase your budget for data.

The reason why people complain is because even if we don't do anything data still won't last I have done all the data prevention steps even lowerd video pixels but yet data won't last let's face it Data finishes faster in Nigeria no matter what you do
