Corporations will replace governments only when governments all around the world collapse and that will happen only if there occurs a catastrophic event on a world wide scale.

And corporations will exist / able to operate in liberal societies post last scale destruction.

While religious societies will slip into medieval anarchy.

Also aftermath of a world wide level war will not result in demotion to age of sticks and stones.

That's a myth , technology will have advanced or has advanced to the point that nation states r not required to nurture it. So technology will advance even further, initially slower in the aftermath of a catastrophic event but sooner or later it will gather pace with time.

Primary factor is the energy source - if cold fusion project is successfully developed , then even remnants of humans can survive and prosper again
