the major issue is players recruitment and coaches in the local clubs. almost all the clubs don't have good management team and academies where the fundamentals are taught to younger players. you have to get to a certain age before you will be deemed good and strong enough to play in the league. our local league players lack basic football education which is imbibed in players right from their academy days. once a player can run for 90 minutes non stop, aggressive, rugged and built like a tank you are good to go in the local league cheesy cheesy
I have been saying it on here for ages, our local league is dead. Even the players playing in it do not believe in it. They all want to go abroad any which way. Academy football is a cash cow right now. That's why we have boys popping up all over Europe. Our local league needs serious investment.

There was a time LMC made all league set up a youth team and they played tournaments. I don't know if that is still running.

Some good legs were discovered in the NPFL youth league then.

I'm not saying otherwise but he made it look like it only happens in Nigeria to move late.

old legs in the league is more of societal problem than anything else.

what is the age of an average Nigerian graduate?
The whole league structure is wrong. Our league teams should have feeder teams from age 10 . They can look for partnerships with teams abroad to support this or get local corporate sponsorships. Ajax, Barca etc have similar arrangements in Africa. In return, you produce talents that go abroad to these teams.

The most important benefit is a production line of truly young talent.

For this to work, clubs need to work like businesses and government involvement reduced or totally removed.

There is no expectation to score goals because your first duty is to defend. If you can score it's a big bonus and will push you to the next level.

Nigerian-born winger Bobby Adekanye made his debut for Lazio in the Italian Serie A on Sunday, September 29.

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi handed a first appearance to the former Liverpool starlet when he came off the bench in the 86th minute of his side's 4-0 rout of Genoa on game week six.

The Biancocelesti were leading 4-0 through goals from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Stefan Radu, Felipe Caicedo and Ciro Immobile when Adekanye hopped off the bench.

The 20-year-old was an unused substitute in previous Serie A matches against Sampdoria, Parma and Inter Milan and made his professional debut against CFR Cluj in the Europa League on September 19.

He was frustrated by the lack of first-team opportunities and opted to leave Liverpool as a free agent in the summer despite being offered a three-year contract to extend his stay.

The exciting winger brightened his chances of playing regularly for Lazio's first team after scoring a hat-trick in a friendly against Biancoceleste Primavera about three weeks ago.

Lazio sit sixth in the standings with ten points, eight less than league leaders Inter Milan.

Ibadan-born central defender Joseph Olowu was promoted to first team training by Arsenal manager Unai Emery ahead of his side’s trip to Old Trafford, where they face Manchester United on Monday evening.

Arsenal have published pictures of their final workout held at London Colney on Sunday, September 29 and Olowu was spotted training with the first team.

Another Hale End Academy product Bukayo Saka is in contention to be included in the traveling party to Manchester as he also participated in the training session.

In Emery’s pecking order of central defenders, Olowu is behind Sokratis Papastathopoulos, David Luiz, Rob Holding and Calum Chambers, and with the quartet available for selection and training with the group, his chances of being included in the matchday 18 are very slim.

The 19-year-old first trained with the Gunners first team during Arsene Wenger's time in charge back in 2017.

This season, he has been involved in four league matches for Arsenal U23 team and was on the bench in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

Olowu has pledged his international future to Nigeria and he's on the radar of the Dream Team VII caching staff ahead of the 2019 U23 Africa Cup of Nations.

League leadership, club leadership... all of them.

Clubs with big following like Enyimba and Kano pillars should have proper structures and attract a lot of sponsorship.

What did Enyimba do with their champions league money?

Talking about outstanding, that may be too much to ask for. Just tell me your definition of average and we can make the word substitution.

That said, if I called the Armenian league or the Latvian league whack leagues, will you term that degrading?
The NPFL not making the top 10 in Africa (according to you) says it all. Then never use that word degrading again.

Are all the players in the Armenian league bad? Are all the players in the Singaporean league bad? Think about all the worse leagues, are all players there bad? I've answered your questions with those question.

You can't blame the players for the environment they play in. But at the same time they are products of their environment.
somehow:
Yes the league is struggling and not in the best 10 in Africa IMO
Few questions for you:

Are you saying those playing in the league are all bad players?

How many players actually become outstanding abroad in 5 years all over the world?

Use UK as a yardstick

Are the human resource the problem or the league policy makers?

He made his commitment probably about two years ago.

Good move for him to go to Lazio otherwise he would still be playing U23 with zero chance of playing in the first team.

Essentially stagnating.

He speaks Yoruba fluently, l discovered this much to my embarrassment.

As a winger he has lots of competition. But there is nothing wrong with wanting to play for your fatherland.

are we talking highlights now? isn't the season still young? So we have switched now from not playing for Besiktas or Gala to highlights. The dude will come good this season, then what would you say next? I believe Zuby will do well. He is getting game time and he is starting to make impact statistically.

then let him do well first before you compare him with Ndidi.

Ndidi has been among the best if not the best DM in Europe since the first day he put on a Leicester shirt. The stats say so not me oh.

You expect zuby to have more highlights in turkey than onazi, how do you judge your own football?

Someone that has been playing for trabzonspor since 2016? zuby that started from division 2 before his team gained promotion, and later he almost killed his career by joining that egyptian club before he had to bounce back to europe immediately
