LegendHero:Did you even read and understand what I wrote? Pheeeeww! And for your information, you should be even proud to have an Igbo community in your state, Igbo as a group is wayyyy more successful with wayyyyyyyyyyy more successful, famous and popular people so, it's not as if one is attaching oneself to a very famous and successful group. Rather we know our histories and see you as brothers. Brothers that fought the war side by side during the Civil War...that's that and we understand this history and brotherhood. On the other hand, you can't change the fact that there are igbo speaking indigenous people whose ancestral lands are in Akwa ibom, so are there also ananng groups in Ukwa East in Abia state |

Pls point of correction, Hausa is the most indigenous spoken language in NIGER State, therefore even the former governor Babangida Aliyu and current Governor Abubakar Sani Bello were all Hausas. Apart from Hausa there are Nupe, Gbagi ( Gwari), Kanbari, dukkawa and other endangered languages

Homeboiy:Oga, am from ette igbo eze north LGA. of enugu state and we speak 3 different languages. Idoma, igala & igbo. My dad is from igbo speaking side of ette while my mum comes from idoma side. Ette has a very large land mass which makes there settlement to be scattered. That's why hardly you will see an ette indigene who can't speak at least 2 languages. |

Osagyefo98:you people choose what to believe and that's the character of those of you born in 2000 and who migrated to Lagos to sell gala before settling down. Those who know won't say there's no igala in anambra state. The OP said it's a minority, so what's the "fuss" there? You can have ibo in other states, but it's a sin to have other languages in ibo state because of chauvinism and myopic thinking in the east that "unity is uniformity". |

FortuneDeGreat:Having states with artificial boundaries is common to all the states and not peculiar to Benue. It means that there might also areas that are supposed to culturally be part of Benue but have been included in Eboyin (being the newer state). Also, the areas in contention may perhaps, actually be indigenous to Benue but have igbo settlers as we have in many parts of the country. |

PHIPEX:It is either you’re it or you’re not it. A French man would understand Canadian French, and vice-versa. But the both are not called French men even by tribe and not by nation. A Swiss German has a higher chance of understanding German than a German the chance of understanding Swiss German. Even when there’s “German” in “Swiss German,” you dare not called a Swiss “German.” All this cultural stupidity we’re practicing won’t work. If you cannot understand a language, you can’t understand it! Ask the Itsekiris and the Yorubas. This is just a ploy by the Igbo people to claim different communities. All Deltans, I repeat all Deltans part from Asaba indigenes will never agree to be Igbo natives. If you want, you can put their head in a guillotine, they’ll still reject being Igbo men. In the North, I clearly can’t differentiate Fulani from Hausa language, I mix them up sometimes. The fact that they’re alike doesn’t mean that they’re the same. Just accept the fact that Ibo is Ibo, Ika is Ika, and Urhobo is Urhobo, and we’ll all have peace. The term dialect means “a variety of language differentiated by vocabulary and pronunciation, but grouped under one language for emphasis.” If we were to go by this definition, then the three languages in Nigeria are just names and they hold no ground. Thus, if one tribe doesn’t wish to be grouped under the same “language” as another for the white man’s sake, then they’re free to be called what they want. After all, Nigeria was divided into three different languages due to the white man’s greed. Grade 2 history would tell you that. Pardon any error found within the argument. |

Osagyefo98:You and all those who liked your comment do not know History. Get some education. Know today that the original inhabitants of what you know today as Anambra where Igala people- Back when they held the mantle of leadership over the historical Apa Kingdom. The Igbos/Hebrews migrated from Jerusalem, through Egypt and settled in the Eastern part of what we now call Nigeria. By that time, Apa Kingdom had already given way to the Kwararafa kingdom (already weakened by internal crisis and external threats from the Fulanis). The Igbos settled in that area and quickly dominated and occupied by rapid population growth and commerce. You will never learn this in school. |
