One of the common signs you get from Banana Republic. Such decisions will be made without a prick of one's conscience on its effect to the business owner, the country's macro economic indicators, the vendors (direct & indirect), the workers and her dependants. They are very confident, our cries are useless as the last drop of sperm is to pregnancy. 1 Like 1 Share |

Johnnyessence:exactly, the fg wants to monopolise virtually all sector to dangote. The same way the edo state government and the federal are intimidating BUA at okpella limestone mining site. It is glaring that dangote knows how to pay his way through any corrupt government. |

[quote author=aminulive post=82787153]Under the Port Reform Programme of 2005 where the Federal Government of Nigeria leased 25 terminals to different port terminal operators, The principle of the agreements reached with the firms is that they would operate the facilities, while the NPA will be responsible for repairs and infrastructural upgrades. That's what you need to understand...[/quoe] Sounds plausible because a tenant ordinarily will not carry out maintenance work on the property he leases thoughtless of upgrades for several obvious reasons. If this was the agreement at lease can we be witnessing another contractual breach and possible litigation by agents of goverment..... |

otokx: So can you see that your goverment cannot just sustain industrialisation. It cannot work with the productive sector to work around challenges to ensure products are made and jobs are kept at all costs. Shame. Tomorrow it will be complaining about insufficient tax returns while it is unwilling to ensure its economic engine is well oiled and working smoothly. |

Ykc2: You dont go to jail in Western countries for manipulating your businesses to suppress others. If the government feels you are doing that, they either fine you with a fine so heavy, it reduces your networth or they charge you with antitrust and break up your business like they did to Bill Gates and trying to do to Amazon. As to his trucks killing people, those are issues of civil litigation amd compensation where victims are compensated through insurance. But Nigerian motorists are generally lawless drivers. And if the Inspectorate division was doing its jobs, many truck drivers would have had their licenses cancelled before they killed people and Dangote trucking heavily sanctioned for hiring or retaining poorly trained drivers |

otokx: funny comment. People are discussing the poor decision by NPA, you are talking about Skyline. If PH isn't such a notoriously disorganised place, that BUA company ought to be in Tran-Amadi or Onne. People just erect structures anywhere and everywhere. |

That is why when people say Dangote is a big business man, I look at them with disdain. Check online for the price of one tonne of cement, it about 50usd and if you are buying more than 1ton the price will be reduced further. Most of these cements are even better then Dangote's product. So imagine now, you can get 20bags of cement with #18,400 from importation abroad, Now that is #930 per 50kg bag. After banging lowering your cost you can get down to market price at #1300 per bag. So imagine now you have cement at that price and you have #2million in my bank account, that means you will be able to complete a standard duplex, or something closer. So you see, the real business man is not dangote, the government has allowed only Dangote to take over. |
