I hope he caps them and not leave them on the bench. Let’s turn the page for once on Tammy especially. The long drama is enough.

Why Bother About Tammy Abraham When You Have Osimhen – Ex England International Tells Rohr

Former England international striker John Fashanu has reacted to the decision of Tammy Abraham to pursue an international career with England ahead of Nigeria.

Abraham as at yesterday said he is open to the prospect of playing for Nigeria despite having represented England from youth level up to the senior national team, he was however named in their recent squad for the international round of games and he proudly posted his delight at the call up.

Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com, Fashanu who also shunned the chance to play for Nigeria in preference for England in the 80’s and 90’s said Abraham’s decision shouldn’t worry the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr because of the presence of Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen is finally delivering on the promise he showed at the 2015 U17 World Youth Championship where he finished as top scorer with seven goals in all competitions from 8 games including one in last night UEFA Champions League 1-2 loss to Chelsea.

DONT MISS ==> Rohr Explains Super Eagles Style Of Play And The Missing Link In Attack
” The idea is to have the best players play for you but when you can’t have them you have to rely on other options. In this situation Abraham won’t be a big miss to Nigeria because he is almost at same level talent wise with Osimhen. Some people even prefer a striker like Osimhen ahead of Abraham. Rohr shouldn’t be worried “, he remarked.

Maybe he is saying he doesn’t intend to cap them for that reason. Only if they deserve it. Or at least trying to make the duo feel he did not invite them for that reason.

KpagoGIN:

Was this actually what Southgate said concerning Tam and Tomori? seems the list had external influence against the coach then.
P.S It like NFF virus has entered the English FA.

I will not miss Tammy Abraham.
I never wanted Rohr to invite him in the first place after insulting the whole nation, "red carpet' things.

We have Osimhen and shall continue to discover more potent and prolific forwards.

The only person I wish we never missed is Fikayo Tomorrow.

I will never respect such nonsense, as if the players there are better

The issue is not better because better is not a static variable but a moving one. You may start late but still catch up or not all as the case maybe. You can become better but you are not better because you say so.

In the EPL academies they start selecting players
at the age of U6 with a training programme. By the age of U8 they train 4 times a week minimum 2 hours it's competitive training. I know one academy that had the former assistant manager of a Brazilian football club to head the U12 development. With emphasis on technical ability.

That training only increases in intensity and competitively as they get older. They go on tournaments across Europe at least 3/4 times a year.

If you have not been in that set up you will struggle. Therefore to overcome you have to bring something that you can't get by training. God given talent like JJay or blistering pace like Aghahowa, diligence and determination, etc

Now put on par the players nurtured here in Nigeria and let's not even talk about football age.

Who do you think then will have clear competitive advantage❓

Why do you have so many athletes as well as footballers of African origin representing different countries and playing at the top level.

Pele said an African team will win the World cup to some that already happened when France one the cup.

Once players become options for England, it is difficult to get them. We simply can not compete. There is simply more prestige playing for England. They do not have to fight for their rights with the FA.

That is why we should get players early before England comes to the picture. Once it becomes a choice, it is hard to choose Nigeria. Nigeria does not have the pedigree of Brazil and our organization is poor.

Some players have been begging for 9ja invite, we have not called them. Once they join a big club and England gets interested, we will start chasing them.

I'm a Chelsea fan but to be honest, Osimehen is better than Tammy. I dont get it why folks here are disturbing themselves about him and should he get 10 caps for England,he brought it upon himself cuz he saw the signs when he was racially abused recently.

As for Tomori, I just pity him cuz he is not built like a CB though makes that up with his pace and awareness but ones someone who is taller comes up,he is gone.

What i'm saying in essence is that they may not last long with the three lions but I wish them the best. Agbolahor and Ibe comes to mind.

Can you to be honest give your honest objective comparison assessment on how you came to that conclusion.

Using some sort of balance score card method explain, without emotive sentiment please.

Even asking this question to many here is like putting a red flag to a bull.

Quote from his Aunty, the current deputy governor of Osun state

''It would be my dream to see him play for the Super Eagles someday. We are so proud of him, so also is his parents,'' Titi Laoye-Tomori told saharareporterssport.com.

''He is a true professional and also very humble. He works so hard for his team and no wonder he has won so much at such young age.

''I was with his dad recently and we spoke a lot about his chances of coming to play for Nigeria soon. Right now, he is focusing on his club career and we hope he will come represent his fatherland soon.''

Quote from the horses mouth.

“I thought about playing for England, Canada and Nigeria''

Agreed without reservation or question.

Can l add do you know the monetary value that is added to and prestige by playing for England.

Just endorsements can go into Millions of £££ l am not sure how much Rashford gets now but it will substantially more than before. See screen shot.

When l explained that a player cannot make a public declaration of change of allegiance when you are an established England youth international. That will destroy your prospects of getting a long term lucrative endorsements and contracts.

Unfortunately many find it hard to believe playing for Nigeria will not get you lucrative endorsements as compared to playing for England.

You have to be wise that's why Dominic Iorfa had to be diplomatic and say he will commit at 23 but it's been totally misconstrued here. Just in the same way it's misrepresented that Tega insulted Nigeria.

Hmmm,wetin we go do.

Nigeria league is dead and to revive it would take a miracle which is not even feasible for now based on what i saw of Nigeria leagues in the 80s,90s and part of early 2000s.

I see how humility 017 has been murmurings about NPFL,coaches and how he was so frustrated about football set up in Nigeria leagues but what is certain we cannot run away from reality facing us.Thanks to these FBs boys coming up and serving as rescuers.

Those of us,may be icon4s,goldfish80,omonbala,Kokmne, thegoodjoe, forgiveness etc who had the opportunities of following Nigeria football development since 80s can say much about how it went wronged.

Nigeria football was beauty to watch in the 80s with high class of coaches, namely Father Tiko,Otto Gloria,Alabi Aissien of Bendel Insurance, James Peter,Chris Udemezie,Paul Hamilton,Willy Bazuaye,Jossy Lad of Leventis utd fame,Dominguez an Argentine who coached Rancher bees in the 80s,Joe Erico,Tunde Disu,Kadiri Ikhana,Baraje,Kafaru Alab,Kelechi Emereole,Alphonsus Dike etc

These are the coaches that shaped Nigeria football they are well schooled when it comes to football with different refresher coaching courses in abroad and far better than the coaches we have now managing our players.

Also good football administrators who are ready to sacrifice for the growth of the beautiful game are on ground, administrators like Anthony Ikhazobo,Emeka Omeruo,Nathaniel Idowu the father of Philip Idowu a british runner,Isaac Akioye,Patrick Okpomo,Sylvester Akibwumi,SB Williams,Greek born John Mastroudus etc.

Then it was a joy watching Nigeria league with player like Emma Okala,Segin Odegbami who i still rated as the best winger to ever come out of Africa,Muda Lawal who Ndidi Wilfred still has his record to beat, this league produced best of the best wigers like Adokiye Aimiesemeka, Felix Owolabi,Humphrey Edobor,Folorunsho Okenla,James Etokebe,Friday Elaho, Emma Amuneke,Chris ohenhen, Victor Ikpeba, these left wingers that our talented Chuckwueze would find it difficult to bench but they are products of the now dead leagues.

Oh anytime i remembered Segun Odegbami,Benji Nzeakor,Tarila Okoronwata,Wole Odegbami,Augustine Igbinabaro,Ndubuisi Okosieme,Emma Okocha,Uwem Ekarika,Jide Oguntuase,Tijani Babaginda,Finidi George etc i laughed at people rating Simeon Moses,Samuel Kalu,Oyekwuru,Olayinka and co,these guys cannot lace the boots of these old wingers. And these guys are product of the same league.

I watched one of eagles old tapes against Mexico and i saw how good was home based Ajibade Babalade in that match.Godwin Okpara was delighted to watch,a CB with beautiful skills.Chidi Nwanu was so strong as CB despite being a very average in height,Ben Iroha was a product of this league playing for eagles,Finidi entered eagles starting eleven as home based,Thompson Oliha the samething,Moses Npakor also as home based player.

I remembered Peter Rufai,Patrick Ikeji,Best Ogedegbe,Willy Agbonibare,Raymond Best,William Opara,Lateef Yusuf who still has the record of highest clean sheets in Nigeria. These keepers are products of Nigeria league, not to talk of Enyeama,Ejide,Aiyenugba,Etafia or era of Biodun Baruwa,Emma Babayaro,Dosu Joseph,Bode Babbignton,Leye Akinde,Victor Gbenebichie but now no keeper good enough for eagles, we need to resort to a div 3 keeper in Okoye Maduka, wahala dey,the league is dead.

I just don't know what we can do to revive Nigeria football,i mean NPFL.In the 80s,90s we have university students playing in the same leagues, player like Emma Olisadebe,Peter Ayilobi,Gabriel Jigbale,Edith Agoye,Adeolu Adekola,Andrew Uwe,Impowosa Omoregie,Niyi Ogunlana,Seyi Olofinjana,Nosa Osadolor,Yemi Akinyanju, etc.

Humidity baba,i know your grievances but what can we do to solve this issue still remained a mirage.

CC:Icon4s,Michael2,goldfish80,forgiveness, Taliban,tbaba,Kokmne.

I was almost shedding tears towards the end of this epistle.

I missed football of the old embarassed. Younger people will not really understand each time we make references to those players.

The Nigerian football scene was really great. Excellent upright local coaches, highly talented players and fairly to very good football pitches.

Club derbies were like today's ex-classico. Rangers vs Shooting stars was always jam packed. There were other smaller derbies like: Iwuanyawu vs Rangers, Abiola babes vs Stores, Enyimba vs Sharks etc.

And when u saw those games on TV they were a delight to watch.

The Nigerian league is in its all time low. What a big shame.

I am happy for the springing up of foreign groomed players at least it has helped the Super Eagles to remain descent.

God help us.

Ibe is not good enough to play for the eagles.

This is simple and clear

Football is a short term career that has so many twists and turns ups and downs.

There was a time Ibe was rated more than Raheem and playing regularly for Liverpool as a 18 year old teenager. The accolades were never ending.

But look at him now at that time Nigeria would have killed cows and goats for him to play for the SE. Admittedly his case is different his Nigerian Father was never there he was brought up by his Jamaican step Father who has been a really good true Father for him.
