That was straight from my Immigration law textbook.
Not everything is misinformation. There may be more than one options to seek relief. Most people use immigration lawyers for this.
Any way wetin concern me.
I only felt that the information may help some people

ladymarshall:
Please can you share the website where you got this information. I couldn’t find this anywhere on platforms online or on the Canadian government websites. I also need to see the date when this law or policy was passed. People have been appealing PR refusals even until last month and VOs have reopened their cases. I’m not sure this info you shared is recent and authentic except you can prove otherwise. I also believe the VO has some measure of discretion and independence in their immigration decisions. Let’s not misinform people here and cause them to take a wrong decision if they’re refused. Share your source.

My people, I need una help oo.

I requested for my transcript from my school since July, they didnt send it on time.
Finally sent it in September and gave me a tracking number. Tracked it, and it got to WES on 20th sept.
From then till now, my profile is still saying waiting for your document (the only doc left for me).
And when I tracked it on WES website, it also says it has been received.

No response after days of receipt, that's how I started calling WES oo.
They said truly they have received it but the document there isn't carrying my reference number, that it is for someone else. The lady even checked, and she said they dont have any pending document for me., that the last time they received my doc was Aug 20th (probably waec)
They said I should contact my school and ask if my document was sent.

I contacted the lady, she said I should calm down, that she sent it. (madam abeg I cant be calm, point is increasing day by day).
I also contacted someone at the school, and he sent me a copy of the letter, that he is sure, my name and reference number is on it.

Now, I am wondering, is it that the lady gave me a wrong tracking number in order to use it as a decoy not to disturb her (because I was really disturbing her before she sent it) or the transcript is lost in transit or what is happening? I am tired!

@bold may be very correct but I'll still advise anyone who cares to listen to avoid WES. Their unpredictability is a serious call for concern. Let me use my wifey's case as an example here.

We paid them for evaluation in May & started forwarding documents at d start of June. They got her NECO transcript first in the 2nd week of June but they never came out to state which document was being accepted or not till they got the last document requested for by them around August. I had to start sending mails, tweets and what have you before they updated what they have received.

Unfortunately, the first doc (NECO) received by them was d one being rejected. They claimed it wasn't sent by the issuing institution. But if only they had indicated there was an issue with it as they got it in that 1st week in June. But no, they waited till August when d last sets of docs (ND & HND) arrived.

Well, after my gra gra and all the grammars to contest that decision, they didn't budge in their resolve to have the NECO resent. As if that was not discouraging enough, NECO were busy collating results for release at the time. Once they're at that stage, everything else grinds to a halt. We just had to endure for 2weeks before it was finally resent.

Via tracking, they got that in the 1st week of Sep and the verification mail sent to wifey's institution was also replied by that institution some days after that. WES only gave a hint that they received something through the date change on her timeline. I sent mails and tweet, but all we got were generic responses alongside those pesky do-not-reply e-mails. I still send a comprehensive tweet last week.

Almost a month after, they finally updated her timeline fully this week. It was yet another sad development. They informed us they have sent another mail to her institution for further verification. Lol... We're based here in the south west and this school is based far up north-west around the border with Niger...

After 4 months plus, we're still at this back and forth with WES. Both of us have come to the conclusion now that whatever it is they do, their apparent act of delay can NEVER be a denial. It shall end in praise.

I also attach screenshots of their latest updates for a 'further verification' in case anyone has had similar experience to please signify. I would indeed like to interact on a personal level.

Summary: If you can use CES, ICES or even IQAS, pls do. Only God knows why they removed the NECO/WAEC verification at this point in time. It might appear a positive development, but what if they already know they are being avoided en-masse for other evaluation bodies due to the NECO/WAEC clause? Obviously, its removal will bring back people to them but subtly on the other hand, the subsequent congestion might lead to this double verification as we have experienced on our end here.

Waiting for WES these days na good warm up for PPR wait. Lol

Hello guys, quick question please:
I have just been asked to provide biometrics. I intend going tomorrow, but I'm unable to book an appointment with VFS. I called but got an IVR response that they close by 3 pm; and their website appears not to be functional for scheduling appointments.
Is it advised that I just walk in tomorrow? And if yes, what is the recommended time for me to get there in the morning?

Pls bro, when it comes to WES, you need to take overdose of chill pills, ignoring any of its 'adverse effects'. You have to move on from here. WES will never go back on their decisions. The option you have now is to get another contact, reliable this time, and get your transcripts resent. Otherwise, the days will keep rolling by without achieving anything as the lady in question will keep insisting she did the right thing while neither the school nor the courier company will refund the money spent in the so-called sending.

I'm sorry about your predicaments. My own experience is right above. Brace up already and do the needful to complete your evaluation..

Quick one .
Pls I have an inquiry to make.
Currently Processing my WES , and I am suppose to add my diploma result since I gained admission thru direct entry at Unilag. Now unilag said they can't find my first semester result for diploma and have only seen second semester. After several follow up for about a month they finally declared that my set 2002/2003 diploma result for first semester is not available for every one . However my bsc is ready .
The diploma first semester result is still delaying dispatch. Can anyone make a valuable contribution on way forward pls. I insisted on not sending only b.sc transcript to avoid double payment for courier .
Useful contribution would be appreciated. Thanks .

Please, how did you pay on the acro police website? A friend has tried with her two Nigerian naira cards and even her Nigerian dollar cards, they all show failed transaction.

It's actually weird because I didn't have to pay anything on the website, even I was shocked. I wonder if I did something wrong. But I got sent an email that my request is processing so I was wondering if I'd need to make payment once the report is done.

Maybe she should email them asking for an alternative option to make payment? Has she tried that?

Any one else have similar experience?

@joo2018, I can try to help if I get the guidance.
joo2018:
Hiya,

I can do the first, but not the second. I've had help with the Hall of Fame from @raphrulz, but I can see that it is getting tough as the he has not been able to update since August 30.

I also think that the thread will be better served with someone who is currently active.

If an active contributor is willing to commit the next 3 months to updating the PPR Hall of Fame, I'm willing to guide that person.

I think interested contributors should reply this post so it can be public. I think it is better than nomination. The thread has been lucky that when @glitteringstar, @raphrulz and I were nominated in the past, we were able to step up.

If we were nominating, I will choose @ladymarshall as she is the current "boss" in the house. If she is willing.

I don't think the thread should be more than 700 pages though for ease of reading (some people do read whole threads) and for organizing.

If someone has not stepped up by 700 pages, I might open another thread, but the Hall of Fame will definitely suffer.

What you have should be adequate. I was given the same kind of letter, with "Without Prejudice"
written at the top, just under the bank letterhead.
You can attach your bank statement just as an addition to the letter. Carefully go through your documents and take your time before submission, don't rush. All the best and God speed.
raylady:
Quick question about proof of funds, I have collected my bank statement, the bank gave me some random reference letter that just says the day i opened the account and that i am the sole signatory and nothing like the sample i gave them from page 1. I have asked them to send me a letter of non-indebtedness since they didn't give me any sort of clean bill in the reference letter. Do you guys think i need this?
Thank You.

The information is correct. Requesting a visa officer to kindly review/revisit/reopen your application based on information that was missed or an update you can provide etc is not an “Appeal” in the sense of Canadian immigration law but a request for reconsideration. An official Appeal is one sent to the Immigration Board (IRB) which is what was quoted in that article. If you are applying for PR in Canada, your official recourse after a refusal is a Judicial Review as rightly stated except some classes e.g. Protected Persons or a Sponsor appealing on behalf of a member of the family class who can appeal to the IRB. What you are referring to is not an official Appeal but a reconsideration by a visa officer and they are not under obligation to accede to the request if they don’t want to except they realise they missed something and it can be grounds for you to get a Judicial Review. Note that an “Appeal” to the Federal Court is actually the same as a “Judicial Review” and that is the term mostly used to differentiate it from an appeal to the IRB.
