A number of Queens Park Rangers fans have been commenting on Twitter following their 3-0 Championship defeat away at Cardiff City and despite the criticism of numerous players, one was highly praised for his efforts.

Eberechi Eze put in another great display for QPR with some slick passing and several good efforts, including a curling shot which struck the post and bounced clear as Mark Warburton's charges sought to find an equaliser at one down.

The 21-year-old's display was one of few positive for Rangers as they were outclassed by the Bluebirds, who led through two first half set-piece goals, Sean Morrison heading home before a Marlon Pack tap-in on the stroke of half time, while Callum Paterson wrapped things up on 72 minutes.

Here is what some QPR on social media said about Eze's performance:

Wow, can’t believe we’re 2-0 down at half time?! Great possession and we’ve had our chances! Sadly lacking with the final ball. Eze, Chair & Bright playing well. Get Wells on ASAP. Undone by 2 set pieces sadly, but apart from that a strong 1st half #QPR

Disappointed with the result, but can't fault the performance too much. Didn't create enough in second half and the defending from set pieces was embarrassing, but we were decent otherwise. Eze standout and Bright played well on his return, just needs to learn how to finish. #QPR

1 of Smithies saves was straight at him, he didn’t need to move. 90% of twitter make that save (Poor from BOS) & the 2nd save was at 3-0 with 10 mins left. The key moment was Eze hitting post when we were on top, Not his fault would’ve been a beauty. That goes in different game.

Mujtahida:

The truth is that football has changed so much. In the past all you needed was talent. Now football is a science. We are still frozen in the past and beyond the structural and infrastrctural problems bedevilling the local league, is the issue of lack of the touch of the finesse of modern football.

I like the old football of Maradona, Baggio, Gullit, Carlos, Yekini just as some people here like our local players but once the time comes for a certain trend of change to take effect, our personal love or attachment to the old ways don't matter much. At last you either embrace change or like Okonkwo in Things fall Apart, you will be cast aside.

The future of our football is in the hands of the foreign born players of Nigerian descent. They are the ones whose talent will have been honed by the science of modern football and therefore better equipped to carry the burden of representing Nigeria on the global stage. Nigerian born players will simply not be able to cope.

sometimes when you say this words those with myopic senses....can't comprehend and don't even wanna learn.

this Lads right from tender age have been exposed to the science of the game of football, and also they tend to be disciplined than the home groomed talents....

they are better exposed and others...
if we really want our football to make a mark in this latter days... we must be ready to maximize the foreign born players to our advantage...and likewise the home groomed talents...

no one should tell me the increasing number of Nigeria born players abroad should be ignored all because we wanna develop or groom our local born players..

That does not make them less Nigerian.

Even within Nigeria, we all have different choices.
You need not press the point: even those born in Nigeria have to choose. That I am Nigerian doesn't mean the moment Nigeria taps me up, I'll run go do her bidding.

Presently I detest what we have made of this nation. I feel that those who still have hope in this country are a big part of the problem. Let us collectively give up and see that we can go no further, so that we collapse this system and begin the rebuilding process.

If Nigeria were to be at war today, forget it, I will not take arms on her behalf. That's my choice. Sacrifice must be creative otherwise its just a waste. What exactly am I sacrificing for? I am not stupid.

the floor should be open for kids from both side to get a chance by performing well in their various club sides. its only blind and myopic minds will agitate the inclusion of foreign born lads who are willing and good enough for the current eagles set up.

alot of those agitating against the inclusion of some of this lads are the group who were very comfortable having the likes of egwuekwe, oboabona, kwambe, mba, uzoenyi, oshaniwa, gabriel reuben aka the new yaya toure, babtunde, uchebo, nwofor and co in the team few years ago.

i will never stand with such sentiment because if truly some folks here want the best for the team they will understand the fact that the inclusion of quality players born abroad or from the home front is for the fortification of the team not for personal gains or based on sentiment. i am so glad amaju pinnick and rohr understands this and are going for some of this kids who they believe is good enough for at least the team's bench and the current u23 set up.

if france a caucasian nation have to accept the influx of sons of immigrants in their team in order build a formidable team that won the last world cup then it will be stupid for us to ignore those who has all it takes to strengthen our team.

Mujtahida:

Foreign born players are the FUTURE.

I really don't understand the outcry by some against FB. Personally I don't think we should beg anyone to play for us. Once we make offer our hand and it is refused we move on. Like you said we gain some, we lose some but the fact is that they own the future of our football. Its only logical.

One time the NT was completely dominated by players from our local league. Thereafter with the likes of Keshi, Okwaraji, Ohenhen, Etim Esin, our players began to find their way to Europe and the NT selection shifted. Small time, the NT was dominated by Nigerian born players playing abroad.

Now guys we are on the cusp of a new transition. Like it or not, bewail the situation or celebrate it, doesn't matter. This is how it is most likely to be.

Exactly bro

I made this point last month.

We are crying....crying for what?

We didn't put our house in order and our NFF ogas are in trial for corruption cases

We underperformed in the WC 2018 and put up a NEPA-like performance at the just concluded AFCON.

We are not in top 30 FIFA ranking and yet with all this things and so many others, we want to attract highly rated, English born and bred boys to the Super Eagles....haba, it can't work na. They've gone and gone for good.

The lesson learnt here is that we shouldn't try to pressure any FB Nigerian to play for us before the Super Eagles loose respect. Its a decision everyone of them has to make on their own. SO that at least, we will know the truly patriotic ones

Exactly, those blaming the NFF for not using suave, tactics, timing and all what not are wrong

A young academy kid at 8 already knows the country he wants to play for

another big problem with alot of nigerians is pride and arrogance. the nff and rohr reaches out to a foreign born players and the lads pleads for time to weigh their options it will then be tagged that the duo are begging this kids to play for us upon rejection at the first try.

almighty victor moses, ebuehi and iwobi at first rejected the idea of playing for us but later had a change heart after intervention from their management team and family. even unknown sone aluko then turned down the offer to play for us but later rescind his decision.

no one saw anything wrong in keshi bringing in an almost finished ameobi who rejected several approach to play for us when he was in his prime but will cry and mourn when they see a caption in one of the sports dailies or sites that the nff or rohr is in discussion with one of this kid. then they will tag it begging.

we really need to change our reasoning and accept the fact that football in general have evolved. i am not campaigning for kids from the local scene to be ignored but for us to have a collection from both side to form a formidable squad and pool that will be the envy of other football nations in the world.

france won the 2018 world cup with 70% of players of African parentage but today that doesn't count, all the world know and as recorded is that france have won the world cup twice and nothing till the end of time can change that

imagine almighty Netherlands rushing to cap danjuma who by their standard was playing in the lowly belgian league then just to stop us from getting him. he got few caps and have not been called up since then. their aim was to have him in their fold with hope that he will metamorphose to a better player in the nearest future.

Italy also recently took the same step by capping current everton's youngster moise keane just to wade of the lure of the Ivorians. till date the dutch are still in pains for losing ziyech to Morocco.

i posted rohrs comment on the possibility of inviting saka to the national team and the response i got here was that he is not needed when we have ejuke who is doing well in holland currently but the fellow never put into consideration the possibility of having both talented players in our fold which will benefit the team in the nearest future

the edge the western world have over us is that they plan ahead for the future while we rely on quick fix approach which have failed us for so many decades.

Don't bother yourself. Like komekn said they'd hype up their Nigerianess yet if given a pass to any developed country they won't give it a moment's thought before they'd abandon everything and take the offer. Not to talk of children born abroad who hesitate and want to weigh their options before making a choice. Such appalling and disgusting hypocrisy.

See if I be Tammy or Tomori, I'd choose England over Nigeria anytime any day. Who Nigeria help? What has Nigeria given them that they should even consider her? Their choice is perfectly logical and in tune with the reality of the situation on ground. Ultimately England might disappoint them but just merely capping them for a few matches. Fine. Its their cup of tea.

We should not beg anybody and I say this not out of stupid pride you have talked about but because it is absolutely not necessary to beg.

A player reportedly sought after by Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton has been in fine form this season and last night's display for his club even yielded praise from some opposition supporters.

According to The Sun, Queens Park Rangers attacker Eberechi Eze has been on the radar of Spurs and the Saints, who are pondering a bid, and QPR could well be bracing themselves for offers when the January window opens.

The 21-year-old has been thriving for the Loftus Road side this term, already registering three goals and two assists in the Championship, and stats site WhoScored has given him three Man of the Match ratings.

Even in such games as last night, where QPR fell to a 3-0 defeat away at Cardiff City, Eze stood out for his side, and as well as praises from his own fans, a few opposition supporters praised him.

The QPR academy graduate was bright with slick passing and several good efforts, including a curling shot which struck the post and bounced clear as Mark Warburton's charges sought to find an equaliser at one down.

That's the problem folks of your kind have. I have severally posted positive reviews on players from the home front.

I have made positive posts on the performance of players likes Okereke even when he was still in serie B, chukwueze, oshimeh, ndidi, Michael Kingsley, Dennis, kalu, onyekuru just to mention a few and of recent Ejike, Azeez and olayinka.

I don't just hype players without monitoring them and if you are tagging me bias because I have so many times disagree with those clamouring for the invite of mediocrity such as azubuike, Nwakali and co then I prefer to be biased all my life

Eberechi is making the Championship look Eze
By Oliver Walker

Eberechi Eze of Queen’s Park Rangers first came to our attention during his breakout loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers in 2017-18. He continued to show promise after breaking through into the QPR first team in 2018-19, and has now made a start to this season that’s impossible to ignore. A player that was previously simmering may now be reaching boiling point.

The summer appointment of Mark Warburton as manager has turned QPR from unremarkable Championship no-hopers to a side full of attacking intention and in Eze they have a player ready-made to thrive on such freedom of expression. Equally comfortable playing as a #10 or out wide, the 21 year old has also impressed in a deeper role, featuring on several occasions as an #8 in a 3-1-4-2.

Clearly enjoying the deeper starting role, Eze’s gotten on the ball in the earlier stages of QPR’s possession and by utilising his close control, quick feet and athletic ability to drive through the midfield, completing no fewer than 85% of his ball carries that end within the opposition half, he’s been a real force at turning defence into attack.

The advanced positions he regularly ends up in means it’s appropriate to look at his contribution against the boundaries for more advanced midfielders and wide players as well. Eze’s ability to make an impact in the final third has been key to QPR’s strong start and his Scoring Contribution rate of 0.55 (goals + assists per 90 minutes) ranks him second for all players in the Championship under the age of 22, with his expected rates (xG + xG assisted) not far behind either at 0.33.

Far from just a capable carrier, he also has the passing mastery to match. A really smart user of the ball in and around the final third, Eze has the capability to see an opportunity to play a killer pass but also the technical accomplishment to execute them as well, completing 87% of his passes into and within the attacking third.

As expected, the rumour mill has begun to turn with Southampton and Spurs the Premier League sides most recently linked, a step up that will become an expectation rather than a possibility should Eze maintain his fine start.

So you expected him to still wait for someone who never approached him?

First come first serve. Chikena!
They should've approached him when he was at Derby.
