TheWrita:Very true. The level of unemployment is alarming. The present government, including state governments, need to do something fast as not only Lagos is dying, our future is. There is no way we can adequately tackle insecurity without fixing unemployment. 1 Like 1 Share |

what about Niger delta that their vegetation is highly destroyed by the useless Nigerian government to feed the northerners? Go to ibeno l.G.A in Akwa ibom u will see that Akwa ibom is dying as a result of oil activities not Lagos. 5 Likes |

@ op, the write-up would have made a lot of senses if you didn't talk about only pastors /churches but adding Alfa and their atrocities and also unnecessary noises emanating from the mosques alhuja speakers disturbing the neighborhood every morning and evening. I don't do religious thing but it shouldn't be one sided thing. 3 Likes |

When we rather go into residential buildings than manufacturing to bring about employment.. When we rather build hotels than Assembly plants for exports.. When we rather use farmlands for recreational businesses than farming itself.. We always want the easy way out as Nigerians, quick money mentality is killing us gradually. |

ODVanguard:The only way to decongest lagos is if corporate companies relocate their headqarters to other states . since lagos used to be a capital city all the corporate headuqaters of major companies in Nigeria are all there which is the major thing that attracts the influx. But hey i guess no governor will want to loose their gdp so they will keep dancing round the main problem. 3 Likes |

TheWrita:I won’t join you in name calling. You’ve exposed your usual low self esteem. Leave us to collect half bag of rice. After all your kinsmen are happy to collect 1 liter of kerosene from your hero Ikpeazu, while he keeps owing them salaries and the whole place is now filthy. If anyone need advice , your village people needs it more. FYI, Lagos don’t owe salaries and despite the challenges of over population, it’s still the best Nigerian city. Deal with it! 10 Likes 1 Share |

Lagos is what happens when you refuse to spread development to other major parts of the country. Everyone will have no choice but to overcrowd the already crowded city. How can a country of over 200 million human beings have 1 major port. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

taiwoawoniyi:The problem of other states developing lies with the Federal government. If the Government can create ports and industries across the zones, most of these companies will definitely relocate. All the same, people staying in Lagos are trying. I cant survive in such an area. TheWrita:Not just you. An uncle was kidnapped days ago. Spent three days in their custody. Thankfully he wa released physically unharmed. Simply took him and used his card to empty his account. Surely not the hardened veterans we have elsewhere. But I know it is only a matter of time before such boys grow bolder and hungrier and start demanding for even more from their victims. The level of insecurity is alarming. 1 Like |

Very true...There are indeed two lagoses or even three as it were...There is Lagos,Lagoss and their is lagos and then Lagoss.... Breakdown as shown below; Lagos...Ikoyi, Victoria Island,Lekki and environs Lagoss...Ajah and it environs all through to Epe. lagos.... Obalende,Idumota,Adeniji Adele and entire Lagos Island. lagosss...entire mainland.... The truth is the federal government has a major role to play in this case..if they can set up more infrastructure and industries in other states then spread across the nation it would help in reducing the large inflow of people into the same... I sometime in 2009 did a research work with the community development approach towards poverty alleviation and I was able to understand that most people move from the rural to the urban in search of better life and other benefits as they are not made available in the City they are original from... everything is Lagos and I pray it doesn't burst as it is cos if it does...it would have a massive effect on a lot of things.. Lagos "our" Lagos... Xavi2019: |

Lagos state Assembly needs to step up. The city is definitely on a brink. As it stands now, a hit on Lagos will automatically crash this country. Other states won't wake up and so LASG should just force people out because the state may be thriving but it is weak. Very weak. That Xenophobia experience is a perfect example of how weak the state is. A bigger trigger will definitely cause more damage. But, this is Nigeria. Things are always unpredictable. This is why I see Lagos surviving through it all. My only problem is that, Lagos is big enough to be better than this. With this issues, the city will only continue to survive and not improve. |
