Well, we all go overseas for something. The hope is that you don't clash with your Europeon/Oyibo hosts.
That they live in developed society does not mean that everything and all their ways of life is good.
Learn what is good there, return and apply it to your own home and make your own country good.
If you see something that is bad, speak out.
Calling an adult by Jack or James is just disrespect. I lived overseas and called all the white elders by Mr/Mrs/Sir/Madam.... They are not my mate. They deserve their respect. Simple. If you look at people, you will know who is elder to you or not.
I came back and continue calling my Nigerian elders, Sir, Ma, ... etc. We can't be operating double standards in life.
Just because something is not accepted where you are from doesn't make it the standard everyone else should live by.
You are in no position whatsoever to define what respect is and isn't for other cultures because after all your definition of respect was Influenced by your cultural upbringing so it'd be bigotry of you to project your cultural ideologies and upbringings on others

Behavior of most Nigerians in planes is often perplexing. They will fight for storage spaces in the overhead cabin and have no patience when the plane get to its destination. Their civility is zero.

[quote author= post=82827576]Foolishness.
Your mates are in the grave Mr man.
And she even addressed him as 'SIR',
before he started his drama!

Seems it is only Nigerians that carry this age matter for head like gala sha.
Any little thing,
Do you think I'm your mate?
Do you know who i am?
Who is your father in this town?

Re: Nigerian Man Shouts At US Airline Hostess "Do You Think I Am Your Mate?" by Nobody:
When you think you have heard it all, something comes up to make you say, "WOW!" Nigerians and their arrogance...never aware of what's proper decorum. Always trying to play up how important they are in society with nothing truly to back up their false claims and assertions... "Do you know who I am? "You can't even talk to my house boy talk-less of me," "Am I your mate?," etc. It reminds me of a time when a nitwit waded into my lane on this forum and when I told him to go suck on a lollipop, he said to me, "you can't even talk to my house boy talk-less of me." And I told him without mincing words that I NEVER cared to talk to either him or his house boy because I have no desire to and could care less if they exist or not. Nigerians need to put their pomposity in check because real success and confidence are silent while indigents and insecurities are very loud. Honestly, nobody gives a rat ass who the fvck you're especially when they do not depend on you emotionally and financially. So, stop making yourself more relevant than you are.

Village people got ur back
problem is when u trek 2km to work just to get there and realize that you forgot the office key at home. So you managed to trek back home leaving your heavy bag at the office doorstep...
On getting home, you realized that your house key is in the bag you left at the Office Doorstep... You got upset, angry but had no choice, so you trekked back to the office again, picked up your bag angrily, and trekked your way back home again..
On getting home, you dipped your hand in your bag, only to realize that the office key was in your bag all along...
Now you sit on the floor shouting... "Make una kuku kill me ooohhh village people".

Made4naijalove:
A video of a Nigerian man shouting at a US Airline hostess and reminding her that they are not mates has surfaced online. An Instsgram user who sent it to M4N said the incident happened recently.

In the said video, the elderly man can be heard shouting at the caucasian air hostess and asking her if she thinks they are mate. The cause of the faceoff between the man and the air hostess is unknown.

And you think greeting and bending down to people upandan is true respect?

True respect isn't how you treat the elderly, true respect is how you treat everyone without hurting them including infants.

The man should have respect himself since he was in different area. He is still at fault for constituting nuisance in the plane

Oga cool down. Oyibo too get serious issues with respect.
I did a Masters in UK. I was 27 at the time.
Our professor, somebody of 50-60 years with pure white hair, said we should call him "John".
Just like that.
Not Professor John, Dr John...
Even Yes Sir, No Sir.... He said we should not be doing "Sir, Sir, Sir" for him.
The guy is not my mate. My African background, no gree me O. I still call am "Sir".
Their oyibo children were just calling him John, as if he's their mate.

You have 'Colo Mentality' im afraid!
Na there me with Oyibo no agree for ourself O. I'm not their mate O.

You have Colo mentality, I'm afraid
You have to take a stand.
Will you call your elders here Jack and James because you want to be like the westerners?
Honour your father and mother so that your days may be long.
Address elders properly.
You have 1000% freedom to address your mates and juniors as Jack and James.
