hi
Pls kindly advice me on ds.
I make some deposit to my stanbic account and try to get d form tru mail but none of the customer reply, den I went to d bank the next day to pick a tbill form for stanbic, the staffs was just pushing from one to the other ,from teller to customer care to another person again... Las las the customer section called me bak dat der is no tbill by this hour dat there only available secondary market comes on from 8am to 11am and I can't fill ahead dat the interest comes everyday dat II shd come the next day.
I got pissed off and request to close my account, they start anoda go here go here again because it was Friday and I've a meeting to attend, I left the bank and go home.
Now my question is do stanbic actually have times they auction der secondary rate and if I want to close my account, will I be able to cash out all my money without charges considering am closing it.
Thanks

1. You can threaten to close your account if you have enough money but do not be too quick to do the actual closing..
2. You can always use another branch of the bank. Except if it is just one branch that exist where you live.
3. Like most people said up there Stanbic rates are about the best these days so you don have to leave them.
4. Be informed that in doing secondary market TB transactions, most banks have a set time for it. For Stanbic IBTC; branches starts seeing rates from Global Market and could treat TB transactions from 10 - 10:30 am- 12pm. For GTB; It's from 10am - 2:00pm. While for FirstBank it's around 8:30-9:00am - 3:00pm.
For these, if you bring any request after their closing time they will either not attend to it or they will treat it the next day depending on your rapport /understanding the Officer involved.

You can activate option to acknowledge your bid via email - request for a soft copy of the bid-form, fill and scanned back to them. This is what I often use.

Digressing a little, big congratulations to Israel Adesanya now undisputed UFC middleweight championship. Rob Whittaker was no match. Stayed awake all-night.

I've complained to them and today I got the email authorization form and tbills, afterward I'll be able to auction for it via mail.
Thanks

How much is bank loan interest rate per annum?
Around 21% and above.

How much is Tbills interest rate per annum?
Around 13% as at today.

You want to use 21% debt to make 13% profit?

This picture explains what would happen if you try it.

With the permission of people here I will answer your question cos this is not the right thread.Go to united security I think they are in Victoria island or Goole them to get their details, take along with you the copy of the form filled during the purchase and if you can't get it just go there they will tell you what to do to reclaim your dividend. For the sales, register with a stock brocker then cscs account would be opened for you then give them the certificate to be verified into your cscs account when that must have been done, instruct them to sell it. I would advice you to do this very timely before January or prior to the release of their FY result cos price may likely rally before then which would be to your advantage, I perceived u bought @ #14 during public offer. So act on time

Whatever! Those that are vast in stock investment knows what am talking about. FY = financial yr end which is usually December for banks and they start to roll out their year end result for the previous ur in the current yr. Eg 2019 financial result would be out for most bank from march next yr. Can't understand your fiscal October whatever

I have a nagging question and this is spurred on by fear of death.
let's say I am heavily invested in T.bills and it happens that I die, what steps will my family take to access the money I invested? Also how can I make this easy for them while I'm still alive?
I have heard stories of banks making it difficult for next of kin/ immediate family from claiming monies of dead customer. in fact it happened to us when my father died.

To the best of my knowledge, having a trusted member of your family in the know of some of your investments and your ATM pin (most preferable your NOK) when one is gone will save a lot of stress. Matured TBILLS get credited to one's acct as soon as they are matured.

Simply have a will/testament in place, it doesn't cost much.

Studies have it that 80% of Nigerian don't have a will.
Having one in place doesn't mean you will soon die.
To ensure your hard earn wealth or sweat does not end up in wrong hands or forfeited to banks and govt. Pls have a will. The law doesn't recognize next or kin, in addition you can do your next of kin a whole lot of good by having a will. You don't want to imagine what next of kin go through before they can access your fund when you're long gone. In most cases govt charge exorbitant fees to get necessary doc before they can access the fund.
I have witnessed first hand the devastating effect of not having a will by friends and colleagues.
Come to think of it, it does not cost much to have one in place.

After a thorough search, I found United Capital (trustees) ideal for me, and i just started mine. It cost only 17k. No reoccurring annual fee. I spent way above that on beer daily.

You are right. All banks in Nigeria have no option than the December year end. They were mandated to do so by the CBN sometimes ago. What was happening was that some banks have December while some have March and some June. So when it is March, those that fall under that will massively go and take interbank from the December or June year end banks to shore up their books. This gave the erroneous impression that all banks were in the same category or doing very well in terms of deposit. The harmonization of the year end to December put paid to that.

My brother stop asking as if You're not a nigerian.
First they will countinue rollover and dat it. ..Even the people alive still pass through hell to stop rollover of t.b
second ur next of kin might claim ur savings or chking or whatever as long as they r aware you have dat acct.

But If u have the T.B certificate handy then the bank should honor the NOK request .

In this context can I fill 700k on the form? Knowing that I have 670k in my account?

You might need to confirm this with your banker as most would confirm account balance along with the face value of the tbills

That's part of my worry. my wife has the Pin to all my Atm cards. but what if it expires, and you have an active t.bills running?
I understand the thing about Will, even with that some unscrupulous bank staffs fit try nonsense delay tactics and my wife is not the quarrelsome type.

Well, if you don't want to go the way of will and you want it hassle -free for your beneficiaries,
1. Never allow rollover on your TB subscription. It should always terminate at end of stipulated tenor which never more than a year. All my TB terminate at end of tenor; never did the rollover thing.
2. Ensure that your ATM validity has well enough months ahead of the termination of your last TB subscription. ATM lasts for up to 4years. If it requires you terminate and renew it to cover for your TB sub, it is your desire. It only costs N1000.
3. Release your ATM PIN to your beneficiary.
That's, If you feel so strong about it and I bet you it is hassle free.
This just on the mild side of it....
Frankly, Just carry your trusted people along in your investment dealings and have the appropriate documentations, we all should be safe!
