complete truth you wrote up there

TheSuperNerd:
But when we called up Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimhen after their U-17 exploits just as a way of fast-tracking them, you heard the nonsense cries didn't you? Why must the foreign borns be given this special treatment you suggest without anyone willing to cry out while we cry out when trying to encourage our special underage talents who shone at the age grades? Osimhen's call was bashed and condemned left, right and center when Rohr called him up just to begin integration of the lad because he saw he was special. Now we are reaping the benefits.

If Osimhen was foreign born, would his call have been bashed? And if as a foreign born, playing so well for Lille now, what would be the story today? That we should have capped him then, but now we have to contend with England or France for his allegiance. Thanks goodness that is not the case.

Look Sir Royalty. Nigeria have been approaching some of these lads and many of them are non-committal.
These lads should stop making it seem like it is the countries making the decisions for them. It is also their decisions and their lives. Let those that want to play for England or Nigeria or whatever country declare it from the onset and stick to it and not wait till their careers probably hit the heights of Pele where they now start singing the tune of England calling them up first.

Are you saying that Nigeria is not deserving of a player doing well in Manchester Utd or Manchester City or Arsenal or Chelsea? So na only QPR players we want abi? Only West Brom or Rotherham players are good enough for the Super Eagles and would choose the Super Eagles.

If that is the case, then we don't want such snake-like personalities near our GWG. Players who would only choose Nigeria if they are only at a not-so-high level career wise.
My question to them is this... Would they maintain same choice if they are getting the business done at a high level and making the headlines?

I think we should sort out where their allegiance lie from the onset first of all and stop giving ourselves more opportunities to get slapped in the face as seen in the case of Tomori and Abraham.
See Tosin Adarabioyo now... Famzing the GWG jersey and trying to get Nigeria's attention with his funny antics. Would he be doing so if he was still balling at Man City??

We need the really committed ones. Most of them are just considering us only because their careers aren't so great and they feel the Super Eagles is the place to be when you are at Ipswich town while England is the place to be when at Chelsea.

Is Nigeria not worthy of a Chelsea player? That is what we should address abeg and not inviting every dick and harry.

I think I agree with you on that. Lampard being an English man has been partial in his selections sometimes. I mean why the heck would someone like Barkley get a playing time in the team? I really pity Pulisic sometimes.

do you know that even Americans, other nationals are gradually start to voice out that there is now sentiments towards British players....

one even said the reason why Berkeley had to fight over the spot kick and lampard consent to it the other time with Willian was because he was British....

the non British players @ Chelsea are not finding it easy and it will gradually roll to Liverpool should Gerrard becomes coach....

initially the FA tired to infuse some ex internationals into the coaching business but mostly the ex man united players and Alan shearer disappointed them but thanks to lampard and Gerrard..... and now they're on to the players @ the academics....

there was a time @ man city there was no English player save for Richard the FA expressed their displeasure

True that! Not surprised though cuz it has been that way for long. The hyping from their media is on another level. For me,they are not so talented as a country when it comes to football. They are just making the best out of their players thanks to their advanced techs as a first world country.

This Otabor invite is one of the worst, i have seen in a while.

Totally unjustified.

Rohr has to take the blame.

It gives us a glimpse into how Nigerian football is run.

Pure nonsense.. i am so irritated

I agree with you unreservedly.

In my little experience there are two components that matter and will either make or break you.

OPPORTUNITY and ability , I am of the opinion that OPPORTUNITY exceeds ability . No matter how good you are in fact you can be JJay or Yobo without OPPORTUNITY your exceptional talent will go nowhere and be seen nowhere. Quite often the best players do not always get picked for multifaceted reason of which corruption and conflicting interests are not the least.

However, with OPPORTUNITY many unknown unqualified players are birthed, to make it you do not need to be the best just good enough but with OPPORTUNITY you can exceed many players who were much better than you.

This is why i truly believe sentiment aside the best and most deserving players should always be invited and the only way to do that is by consistent outstanding top class performances for club and league. And be given clearly JUSTIFIABLE OPPORTUNITY to the SE

Solo has been given OPPORTUNITY albeit UNDESERVED do not be surprised that this dude that has been starved of OPPORTUNITY in his determination claims jersey. I for one will not be surprised.

The thing is Rohr has the players at the tips of his hands and the players respect him, the nonsense the NFF is doing he's ignoring it and going on with his job

That theory is wrong. The two best teams in England today, how many English players do they have in their First team .

That theory is Conspiracy theory at best.

You think if Chelsea didn't get transfer ban, they will hire a rookie in Lampard in the first place? let alone having Lampard turning Chelsea into an experiment Laboratory that is fortunately for him working.
Or do you think that Pep or Klopp gives a Bleep about developing home grown talents, over getting results.

IMO first issue is administrative incompetence the delay to get Aina was not from FIFA but the NFF, why Then the other issue is conflicting interests players already established in Europe will not understand the Egunje mentality.

Finally, considering the huge pay out to Rohr do any of you truly believes that he gets all of his salary and does not have to give a % to the powers that be . So why would anybody think he has total control over player selection.

What he did with Otabor is not different from what he did with Okoye. We have GKs everywhere in the world that are miles better than 4th divisional Okoye.

So, like Okoye, like Otabor.

Ajayi just dey waste for there, yet one ota ibon made the list.

Forget all the nonsense komekn said here when Osimhen was having a rough patch in Germany, listen to the man who knows the game - Ocampos da great.

Luis Campos: The transfer chief with the Midas
touch: Portuguese sporting director has helped
unearth over £500m of footballing talent
One of the most wanted men in football may not
be the most familiar.

Sporting director Luis Campos has unearthed
over £500m worth of footballing talent during his
time at Monaco and Lille, and in an exclusive
interview with Sky Sports, gives a fascinating
insight into his methods.

His CV is quite something, helping unearth Kylian
Mbappe, Nicolas Pepe, James Rodriguez,
Anthony Martial, Fabinho, Bernardo Silva and
Benjamin Mendy.

The 55-year-old has been sporting director at
Lille since 2017, helping them return to the
Champions League after discovering some of
Europe's best talents while at Monaco from
2013.

Here, he talks through the key players he found,
how he is determined to see players live - even
for a few minutes - and whether he could be
tempted out of Lille, having been linked with a
number of European clubs over the summer,
including Chelsea.

VICTOR OSIMHEN

His latest find, 20-year-old Nigerian forward
Osimhen, has scored seven in 10 games for Lille,
including against Chelsea last week.

"I went to Lagos to see their preparation for the U17 World Championships. After one match I wanted him.
But his price was very expensive for a 17-year-
old. I spoke to my CEO. I called him every night
saying, 'Please give me this player, he is
amazing. In two years he will be one of the best
in Europe'.

"In the end the player went to Wolfsburg. I went
to Wolfsburg just to see him play. Sometimes he
only played for five minutes, sometimes only two.
I was crazy for him! Then he had a virus and had
five or six months not playing and went to
Charleroi in Belgium. Two months later I signed
him. So itʼs a nice story. I lost the player but
then got him back.

"If all is normal at the end of the season there
will be a big move for him because he's like a
cat. You know, if you have a cat and give it a
ball! Heʼs unbelievable. In the last 20 metres he
attacks every ball. Every ball. Like a cat."

I must commend Rohr here for seeing same thing Ocampos saw, that made both men stick with the boy even when things were not going quite well for him due to ailment.

Your clutching at straws.

His coaches who saw him train day in and day out thought so highly of him they let him go and did not see fit to give him a chance in the first team at Wolfsburg.

My opinion has not changed AT THAT TIME he was simply not good enough he has improved a lot and has taken his goals well. There is a very very long way to go before he becomes world class. But he is on the right track .

the problem with this academics is that the money made from this player's sales many a time often end up in the management pocket...

they barely invest it back into this academics....same thing is happening to Nigerians owned companies.... the Nigeria man or woman barely invest in their companies even after making or getting multi million contracts..... they travel for vacations, buy fleet of cars but barely put the large sum back into their companies unlike the Chinese and others.....

I remember BJ Foundation going broke 2 years after the sale of Isaac success.... a player reportedly to have been sold for 1m euro.... so tell me we will barely make significant progress with this attitude
