Maybe that was due to the fact that your earlier statement is devoid of logic. How can someone equate toll gates to economic prosperity?

Let me give you an instance, most toll gates in saner climes are public-private investment, which implies that a private sector contributes some money to fund roads and get it tolled to recuperate the funds spent. In the SE, there are several roads that are an eye sore, so technically there will be need to invest on roads to alleviate the sufferings of citizens especially when the FG fails to implement the construction on their own

Now tell me, how does this relates with economic prosperity or high number of bad roads should now be a bragging right?

Ask yourself if what you said made sense to you.

See how it works. Tolls are meant to collect money, revenue from the road users. The government sees that it makes sense to have more tolls in regions where there are money. Simple. It make sense to put 2 or 3 gates in short distance between Enugu and Onitsha, than say Kano to Kaduna. So in essence number of tolls implies economic posterity. Again how many policemen would like to go to Ekiti than Aba?

I hope this simple analysis makes sense to you?

Can any Igbo guy please rescue this bro from his thoughts. Why will a government toll roads if they are good? Based on your warped assumptions, if the road between Enugu and Onitsha are good, will the government need to toll them or construct them?

I think the Igbos have a fundamental problem that you guys need to address. You don't brag with everything, its just project you like someone suffering from paranoia. Having more tolls should be a major concern to you than trying to use it as a bragging right coz it shows you have dilapidated structures around that needs revival. It simply means the public governance is failing and you need private sectors to come in to help.

Exactly, since the SE hv stood by them all these while against the Ruling party. But I am sure that if APC give their 2023 ticket to a Northerner it will influence PDP to do the same
omenka:
PDP must stop its despicable maltreatment of the South Eastand reward them for their Exemplary hardwork and loyalty by ceding the party's presidential ticket to them in 2023.

You need help to understand simple tings tasks. Who is talking abut repairing any roads now. Everybody knows that SE federal roads are the worse in the country, but the UNITARY Nigeria government are so clueless that they can build the tollgates on road leading to hell. But we are saying that we don't need those tolls.

No Igbo president to eternity is good for Biafra agitation.
It makes a fool of deluded One Nigeria screeching Igbos amongst us who are driven by selfish interests.
The more they are kept away from the corridors of powers by their Nigerian counterparts, the better for the rest of us.
This is because, there is nothing more dangerous to the Igbo (Biafra) interest, than an Igbo man who has been empowered by Nigeria.

Thank God you are starting to reason with logic now.

Now back to the government, you will agree with me that Ironsi promulgated the decree that gave birth to unitary government, so its just Karma.

Should the government build that much tolls in the SE? I do NOT agree and I am happy you guys are condemning it too provided your news is not a fake news coz it is not from the mainstream media.

Are we clear that tolls do not imply economic prosperity but a failure of public governance?

Junaib and his ilk can jump into Argungu. One thing that everyone should know about Igbos is that they don't bluff. What Igbos say they will do, they will surely do.
Igbos did not shy away from a war when the whole nation was against them, let alone now that the Fulanis may not get the same universal support they got from other Nigerians back in the days.
Southsouth is not going Fulani way this time. Middlebelt may not go Fulani way. The only regions that may still do that will be the Southwest and the northeast, but Igbos are way more than a match for those three regions put together.

The line has already been drawn. No Igbo presidency in 2023, no Igbo (and possibly Southsouth) in Nigeria.

At the moment, it is mainly the poor and the working class in Igboland that are fanatically in support of Biafra. By 2023 presidential primaries, the middle class, the political class and the upper class of Igboland may join in the agitation, and the critical mass buildup will be so explosive that Junaib and his fellow travellers will be scampering for cover.

No gragra will help Junaib and his ilk this time

Most importantly they won't have the support of World powers like Britain, Russia because there is too much on their plate right now. The only country that might support Nigeria in another war with Biafra is China. I seriously doubt that will happen , and if something come off all this tension in America and WW3 comes to fruition, they can forget China's support.
It won't be a walk in the park but I like our chances. cool

I have always maintained that 2023 will determine whether Nigeria will remain United as a Country or disintegrate. What is it that people like Junaid are doing specially for Nigeria to make them think that they deserve to retain the Throne of Nigeria for ever.Northern citizens have governed Nigeria more than any region of this country yet, they are the least developed, poorest and and the least educated, most corrupt etc.It is on record that their leaders watered the ground for the bloodletting that is today called Boko Haram.point one positive legacy that one Nigerian leader of Nothern extraction has bequeathed on this Nation.Rather Nigeria inherited trillions of dollars debt from their military leaders that took the intervention of Ibos in Obasanjo's cabinet to get the paris club to write off the huge debt burden.
Junaidu or whatever they call him should save his breath for his day of waterloo.

Jonathan left south east roads in a worst state than he met it.

He spent almost six years as president and failed to repair our roads.

Buhari is the one working on them now.

Jonathan failed big time abeg. Make una no dey cover that man. He really failed in putting good infrastructure in the south. Including his Bayelsa state.
