i think i am in the best positon to judge as someone who spent close to a year in ilorin(unilorin admission palava) and later schooled in abeokuta(mapoly).
in terms of economic,infrastructures, job&business opportunities, social life and all-round exposure it is abeokuta but interms of tranquility, clean city and cheaper cost of living , it is ilorin

The sight of Abeokuta entering from that ilaro route is gory. Old dilapidated buildings with brown roof. Houses that should have been brought down. They litter the whole place.
