A year-old boy was almost killed today by a Rottweiler but for the timely intervention of neighbours, who immediately sniffed life out from the pet. The boy is said to be recuperating. The incident reportedly happened in Abuja

Some people don't know the kind of dog to keep as pet or as guards for homes. A rotweller doesn't like too much play. Its own is to safeguard. Even at times when the breeder ( Owner) over do befr a Rot u will hear the dog murmuring. I wish the baby a speedy recovery.

This is extremely disturbing. If you're a tenant somewhere or living with co-tenants, please I don't see the need for keeping a dog. There are days you will go out to work, some days you will travel. Don't endanger human lives. Leave dogs for rich kids and those who can afford a well-fed pet with 24/7 care and surveillance.

I have about 5 in my compound and patiently waiting to sue someone's ar.se. You can't because of your stup!d rent endanger my life with noise pollution, rabbies, lice and mite.

the truth is that any dog that is aggressive and badly trained can do this, whether rott or gsd or boerbel or Caucasian, let's stop attaching tragedy or bad traits to particular breeds.
if an aggressive dog is not properly socialised, it's capable of hurting little children like this, it's the owner's fault not the breed.

dog attacks happen in literally every country that has dogs, it's not a Nigerian thing, the cases are even more severe in other countries.
it's the owner's fault that this thing happened not that because the person has a dog.
the dog was not properly socialised and trained, it wasn't possessed by any demon.
blame the careless owners and not the animals please, dog's behave how you condition them to behave.

But why take the risk of acquiring something that'll keep you on your toes? Its not my biz though....All I know is....if a dog as small as Lhasa Apso goes out of its way on any of my fam, I'd be offloading a whole magazine on it's a$$ while I see the owner off to rot behind bars

it's most likely a cane corso, it's kind of hard to tell since the face is covered but it's definitely a mastiff not a rott

well tbh dogs aren't for everybody, not everyone knows how to handle dogs and properly raise them right, training a dog goes far beyond feeding and locking in cage.
some people will say they want an aggressive dog or a particular breed they know nothing about and when it goes out of hand everyone blames the dog.
millions of people own dogs around the world and have never recorded any tragedy like this, the mistake of some few people doesn't condemn the animal or all dog owners.
people still own dogs that help their lives in several ways, owning a dog doesn't put you on your toes.
