Hello every one here, I respectfully ask for your help. All mods and supermods including @op I take a bow for you guys, great work you are doing here, kudos. There is a research on cab hailing in Nigeria and specifically Lagos. And the question is has it in any way eased transportation in the city. How many cars are currently on both major cab hailing services. Uber has how many cars or drivers registered same goes for Bolt. Does the app cover the outskirts /semi urban areas of Lagos. Again how many other cab hailing services are there operating in Lagos

I would appreciate your support and help with a close to accurate answer to these questions.

Thank you

1. It has eased transportation in Lagos

2. There are over 1500 cars on both platforms.(My estimate).

3. The app covers everywhere in Lagos.

4. There are other ehailing providers in Lagos, but they can't be regarded as competitors

All research doesn't have to be institute we should develop a research mind set. The research is self motivated.

Any who could please do so. Last year Uber reported 9000 cars for Lagos in a media interview , so I believe that should have increased to an extent.

Still looking forward to more contributions Thank you all.

Y not just Google it or go to uber and taxify offices to seek the informations you need...or you just looking for people to converse with by spamming this thread....its one thing asking for the best among them...which could be answered by experience, asking for how many, something you would easily get on Google....ask questions on the experiences of drivers on the ehailing apps which the thread was created for....

The normal process of getting a cab means you
1) go to a car park or wait at some corner for a cab to pass.
2) price is based on negotiation. Sometimes you will be told we no Dey go there
3) if you are unlucky, you can spend 40 or more minutes trying to get a taxi

With Uber, I simply enter location in my phone, and cab is there in minutes. The cab comes to you. Depending on location wait is 2 to 10 minutes.Short journeys ( ikoyi to vi) cab drivers insists on 1k are now 500 to 600.

Ride is typically in comfort.

For me , personally, the convenience cannot be beat. Especially if you do not feel like driving to a location.

I have taken an Uber all the way from FESTAC to Ibafo.

I think there is taxify, but I have never had cause to use it.

I would say Uber has eased traffic tremendously for end users who do not want to use mass transit

Plz guys, I am sorry for interrupting the flow of discussion on the trade.

Let me start by saying good morning. I am based in Ph and want to relocate to either of Lagos or Abuja to start life afresh as things ain't going as they used to down here in PH.

A friend advised I sell off my 2002 Toyota Highlander and but a smaller car with less maintenance and fuel economy, so I can use it to go into uber in either of Lagos or Abuja.

I know I might not be able to get up to 1.5m on my Highlander, say I can be able to get like 1.2m on it and I don't have plans of where I can get more to add to it to be able to buy a car and have enough left to really hit the road in any of the cities.

Hence, I decided to come in here and seek for some advice from my brothers and possibly sisters who are already in the business. Please your kind advice and guidance is welcome.
You'd def get a good Vehicle for that amount. Holla when you're ready.
Thanks

Bad choice. Go for Honda Civic, Corrolla, Big for nothing, Matrix. Stay away from passat even for personal use
