greenhulk:Why the double standards? The galaxy note series for instance was targeted towards business centric and graphic design folks, but am sure you'll agree with me that people from all walks of life use it. You do know the questions you're asking can be asked about Samsung flagships too right? So following your theory if Samsung adds an s-pen, curved screen & other gimmickry etc it's OK & for normal people while when brands like Asus, Oppo and Xiaomi go over the top with specs then its "aggressive" and only for "tech experts"? You say you're open minded towards all brands, but this statement of yours says otherwise. |

Contumely:The phone is simply top notch. It's what I'll call serious value for money. The battery, ram... It's the most affordable brand. And if the want the flagship, they got it too. I think it entered the Nigerian phone market a little late, but it's sure taking it's place |

Prior to lesser known brands like Xiaomi, Huawei, One Plus, Realme, Lenovo, Oppo etc having a stronghold on the mid range market globally, Samsung was milking users in the midrange category, especially in Nigeria and we didn't see y'all criticizing Samsung. The irony of it is most so called big boys were only flaunting foreign used Apple and Samsung phones. These 2 tech giants only see the Nigerian high-end smartphone market as too small. Now competition is forcing them to change strategy and y'all whining instead of rejoicing. Nigerians truly dunno what they want |

2kurupt:Galaxy note series is basically Galaxy S10+ with an s pen. It maintains the general design of a normal phone which most people are comfortable with. The same cannot be said about the rog phone and black shark especially when it is coming from an OEM that is not that popular. U should understand the average consumers don't like to take risks when paying so much money for a phone, most people just play safe. Trust me people would rather buy Samsung Galaxy note for $1,000 than Asus rog phone 2 for $900. The phone that is not normal that Samsung released is the Galaxy fold and I don't expect it's sales to be massive. At least not yet. |

2kurupt:If u have been following my posts u would know I have always told people not to buy Samsung mid range phones as they are not worth it. This is even before xiaomi and other brands became popular in Nigeria. It is only of recent that Samsung stepped up their mid range game with the Galaxy a series and that was due to firm competition from other oems. |

greenhulk:You still don't get my point. I made mention of phones like the Black Shark & Mi Mix to emphasis that they too can go that far in specs and features despite that not being their main focus. Some other commenters here think Xiaomi is all about just the Redmi Note 7 or budget phones. greenhulk:Well, I couldn't agree less. My last Samsung was the original Galaxy Ace, after that I always felt they were holding back against the non-flagship segments, and I am all for functionality over aesthetics. With the current trend of better specs trickling to cheaper phones, it can only be a win-win situation for the consumers |

greenhulk:Bro, I've read though a lot of threads! Both parties involved has got their faults. Samsung and iPhone users on this forum look and talk down on Xiaomi users. That's the real problem, they won't allow that now. There is this air of arrogance that the post of Samgsung and iPhone users carry, that's why the quarrel will continue. |

Jake420:Your point is not completely valid bro. I've trained everyone in my family to be contented with their phones for at least 2years! I use a Huawei device I bought in April 2016 till now! Not many fancy all this rat race. No matter how top notch your phone is now, give those fools another 3 months (transsion devices na 1 month ) another innovation don show. greenhulk:Yeah, at the moment Redmi Note 8 Pro is the good choice for gaming at very affordable price. this phone has a quite powerful helio G90T processor which handles tasks pretty much every efficiently. even you can play games like pubg and fortnite without lagging and throttling. |
