Hello gurus in the house , I’ve been a silent reader for a while now... here’s my case .. I’ve been refused U.K. visa three times .. once 2016 and twice in 2018. My refusal in 2018 was based on my personal financial circumstances. To cut then long story short .. I got a job september 2018 afterward earning a total of 140k a month.. spend 60k a month... fast forward this year .. I’ve been to 4 countries volunteering for an NGO which I partly funded .. also I won an all expense paid trip to the U.K.. flight , hotel , airport transfers , Daily stipends for 6 days covered .. I want to ask if my personal circumstance would be considered for this trip and again I never thought I will be going to the U.K. this year coz winning the competition wasn’t expected.. |

Healhtyliving:Why cant the husband be the main applicant? If the husband is the primary applicant, then this is okay. A dependant visa is only for ones spouse and children. The wife can bring the love child has a visitor and not as her dependant. That is the law of dependant visa. It is very simple. |

Good evening all! As an update on my Complaints to Home Office against the reasons for my refusal, I sent out the mail on Sept 19. So last week while I was out of the country on official assignment, "an oyinbo person" called my organization and my colleague that picked the call, disclosed that she was asked details about my position, number of years I had worked at the organization and my salary. All the info she provided corresponded to the details I had earlier provided in my application except for the salary, which she told the person, she doesn't have access to such information. The office line is designed in such a way that any staff can pick incoming calls Moving forward, 2 days ago, I got this generic message from: UKHUBVisaInfo@fco.gov.uk Monday (2 days ago) Dear Your UK visa application has been concluded by Visits UK and will shortly be dispatched. Votre demande de visa a ete traitee par notre service Visites Visa UK et la decision vous sera communiquee dans les plus brefs delais.Veuillez s il vous plait lire les instructions concernant la recuperation de votre passport...... I was already jubilating on how I would tell my success story here ![]() Only for me to get another mail today again from Complaints via homeoffice.gov.uk CMS Reference: HO Reference: Dear .... Thank you for your email correspondence of 19 September where you have raised a complaint about the refusal of your Entry Clearance application. We apologize for the error you have identified in the original refusal notice. An updated decision notice has been sent to you. The onus in on visa applicants to demonstrate their circumstances are as claimed. There is no obligation upon decision makers to verify employment along the lines suggested by you in your complaint. Moreover, at no point does the refusal notice challenge your employment as claimed or that you do not have sufficient funds available to cover the expenses of the proposed visit. Employment was not an area of concern and therefore the Decision Maker did not need to make any checks. (But note that they called my office oo) If you can address the concerns raised in the refusal notice, it is open to you to make a new application which will be assessed on its merits. I apologise for any inconvenience caused to you in this matter but I am unable to uphold your complaint. I believe I have addressed all the points you have raised. (My other complaint on the miscalculation of my planned expenditure and monthly income was not addressed). However if you feel that there are specific aspects that have not been addressed you can request a review of our response within one month of the date on this letter. I really dont understand how to proceed cos it seems there is a gap between the first mail I got on Monday and today's mail from Home Office. I have attached the refusal letter and the complaint letter I sent to HO for aid our delibrations @justwise and others please help

obiz0819:Hello. They made errors on my application as well. Did you complain through a different medium or made a fresh application? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by obiz0819: 6:16pm On Oct 16, 2019 |
Skrskr:I made a complaint not a fresh application. I felt I should correct the wrong judgement before making a fresh application |

Your heart says you should contest the decision... that’s okay however kindly leave out the self employed part... you are self employed because you OWN the company and they are right to refer to you as that.. Skrskr: |

giselle237:It’s a journalism Firm in the U.K been in existence for over 50 years ... dedicated to helping journalists from third world country .. I was lucky to win with my team members all from other countries ... I’m the only Nigerian that was chosen .. My question in a case of all expense paid trip .. will my previous applications with issues of financial circumstances be a problem ? I applied with a statement that have got over 10 months salary closing balance 200k .. coz I’ve been traveling a lot volunteering this year .. 4 countries ( gh , Kenya , Rwanda and South Africa )let me add they are willing to spend 2500 pounds for my trip |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 6:52pm On Oct 16, 2019 |
congratulations. Grace found you. Your financial situation will be assessed, not necessarily for you to sponsor the trip seeing that you have already got a sponsor thru the competition but for them to further assess your home ties. Financial ties is just one part of it, other ties would be taken into consideration as they have to make sure you wont escape. Whatever you do, dont fail to declare the existing denials. The travel you have made though not to countries with similar immigration structures as theirs, it will sha help..If you need further assistance, Pls always ask tswft: |

giselle237:Thank you. But what would you advise? To reapply or to complain? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Justblow: 8:23pm On Oct 16, 2019 |
Skrskr:You gave too much information. The ECO is not looking for the strong part of your application to make decisions, they are all out for the flaws. You earn 360k, let's assume your ME. is 100k, u left with a monthly DI. of 260k, twice is 520k, guy, u can package your papers and get the visa. All u need is get an invite for the graduation, parent give u accommodation and reduce your travel duration to two weeks. All these mom will give me money as gift, is further complicating the whole thing. Don't even think of contesting it, remember your company is just five months old. Follow my lead at the top and you will be fine. All d best. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Skrskr: 8:50pm On Oct 16, 2019 |
Thanks, boss. Do you advise I reapply immediately? The graduation is already past as it was October 7th. But I did include the graduation invite in the previous application As per accommodation, they have a small apartment was why I decided to book a hotel if given the visa. Should I apply for two weeks now? Remove the joint account and still use my parents' house as accommodation or should I just book the hotel and reduce my travel expense to half since it will now be for 2 weeks? Justblow: |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Justblow: 9:20pm On Oct 16, 2019 |
Skrskr:Very well, you are on point, plan your travel around your earnings and make sure you do not exceed twice ur DI. you can reduce your ME. to as low as 40k a month and u still left with about 640k to spend on a two weeks holiday. With proper planning and budgeting, hotel accommodation will still surface from this cash. And please, don't reapply immediately, as u have to let ur circumstances change, give it like six months, cause u packing from a different angle now. Reapplying immediately with repackaging smells despiration |
