Hello everyone, please i need your advice here. I am 25 i just finished my BMLS programme. I was intending to study medicine from the start at LAUTECH. After beating cut off and the the likes during that year, unfortunately, there was no admission to study medicine due to accreditation issues then. I was forced to study MLS due to the fact that i entered through pre-degree. Now that I finished my BMLS program, my passion for medicine has not ceased. I have not gone for my internship as part of BMLS program yet.
My question is can i apply in any school to study medicine through D.E (Note, i only have my statement of result yet ) or I should start all over and write jamb and utme. I will appreciate meaningful contributions. Thanks very much.
There's no harm in trying both

Hi, yes students can cross from Physiology. That I know very well. As for Microbiology I heard such is obtainable at the OAU.

Nevertheless, every University has her modalities for interdepartmental "crossing". What University are you speaking of in particular?

Yes it is very possible to cross from Physiology or Anatomy than from Microbiology. HOD for Microbiology might not want to release his best student. It just require high GP but note that, it is only few people they do cross.

I think its better you go in for MBBS through DE as some schools can accept you into 300lvl MBBS with your BMLS
No school will accept him into 300 level. He must start from 200 level. Besides, DE admission is hard to get. I suggest he should try both UTME and DE.

Good day all. am a new member of this thread. I initially wanted to study medicine but due to my jamb score I had to change to a course under medical line. By d grace of God,when the school resumes next year, I will be a malabress (university of calabar)and I will be resuming wit dem in the department of radiography and radiological science. so my seniors I would like to really know 1 or 2 things about the course because not everyone like me know about what this profession entails. I would like to know : the years, the main subjects or courses I will encounter and after getting the degree what next.

My aggregate is 274

I'm an indigene but that rarely count in Esut as far as you score above the cutoff which for Medicine is 270 this year.

Once you cross the cutoff you are in regardless of your state, Esut is arguably one of the the most flexible state Universities around when it comes to indigene issues.

TESTIMONY TIME !!!!!!!!!!

I want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone here especially Dr lagusta and other pioneer Bosses who kick-started this thread.

I had given up on studying medicine after staying back home for almost 5 yrs due to financial issues.

I visited Nairaland once in a while but never discovered this thread until last year, accidentally even.

I had just finished 100l in a biological course after getting admission in 2017 when things turned a corner for us financially.

I was generally unhappy with my life and was bordering on acute depression back then, until I saw myself here unintentionally.

The posts I came across here and the diaries that I read( and still following) lit a fire under my belly and I started believing that i could really pull this off inspite of me being a shadow of my Secondary school self academically.

I decided to give it my last shot and by the grace of God and with the help of most people here(bulk of them unknowingly) I am now a fresh medical student in Enugu State University (Esut) by Merit.

I will forever remain grateful to God and my Messiahs here.

Special mention goes to:
Lagusta
lomaxx
Starfx
Elzak
jargo89
Mandeyy

And many others( can't remember all their monikers), in fact everyone here played a pivotal role in my success, even those I kinda ruffled with, I learned from all of it and will make sure I put all I've learnt here to great use.

PS: I have a new account now (Medicblaze), this should my last post with this very one.
Clean slate.

Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

God bless you All.

Congratulations and welcome on board bro.
