Yea....that too....

I keep on correcting people egusi soup is an indigenous food to benin....

The real owner of egusi are the edos(benin) to be precise ,unlike the other soup ,bitter leaf soup, cotton soup which are eating by edo commoners on daily bases, eguisi was a special soup eating on special days like
the igue festival ,or during ancestoral prayers ,it is giving to the gods to eat at the ancestral alter alongside one hand of pounded yam....
It is normally cooked with no oil and no ingrident it is still practise religiously in benin till today

So anyone eating eguisi soup is indirectly eating the food of the gods

Interesting...thanks

But I thought that one you people cook there was called "melon soup"? Is it the same egusi seed?

No problem, I was just joking with you but it seems youve taken it serious. We all must sleep, wake up, reply and go about our day at the same time as you undecided

Have a nice day ahead.
