Vice President Yemi Osinbajo SAN visits a farm in Gaa’te, Nassarawa accompanied by The State Governor Alh. Abdullahi Sule started by a former Niger Delta Militant Reston Tedheke from 3 hectares two years ago to 3000 Hectares of crop and livestock production.

The NFGCS farm, which was founded by an ex-Niger Delta militant, Mr. Reston Tedheke, started with three hectares and N1.5m in 2017, now occupies 3,000 hectares and is worth about a billion naira, with over 300 people employed. Tedheke was inspired by President Buhari’s @muhammadubuhari administration's focus on Agricultural diversification of the Nigerian economy. The components of the farm include a ranch, crop farm, poultry and a rice mill, amongst others.

Visiting the NFGCS farm, I saw a story of national unity and integration: a man from Delta who relocated to the NorthCentral & got land from the local community.

If you seek work as a bricklayer right now, you would find a site to go to.

The problem is you would think the work is beneath you.

Exactly what I mean about them having a choice.

You don't need 80k guaranteed. You need to acquire skills and find opportunities.

When will we stop accusing the Government for everything?

What I see mostly are ill-baked graduates. It’s one of unemployability and not of unemployment.

There is more to employment than degrees. I have had the privilege of working with graduates in Nigeria and;
- quite a number don’t even know how to use basic Microsoft office products.

-You will be surprised by the number that can’t string two complete sentences together.

- No commercial awareness at all. They don’t even know what’s happening in the business world, nor do they follow policies of the government (e.g. CBN policies) that may impact the industries they are working in.

These are soft skills that the government won’t teach, but are really valued by employers.

It is also for the same reasons we have poor performing businesses. I quite agree there are harsh social factors - such as bad roads, poor electricity and high cost of some raw materials; which might make productivity difficult.

My concern really is that we youths need to build ourselves. Get necessary skills - so many tech stuffs out there now. With these skills, a graduate will be an asset rather than just an employee. And when you are opportuned to travel out of the country - you will surprised at the avalanche of opportunities there to thrive better.

Let’s quit blaming the government for everything and build ourselves!

This is inspiring.

That's why I keep advising people to come and buy fertile land here in the southwest and start something, while it is still affordable.

he did this all by himself, I can see he rears cattle I doubt if the cows go to peoples farm to destroy them, but a certain group decided that they would use their business to destroy other people's means of livelihood, unless the government grabs peoples land and invest billions of tax payers money before they can run their cattle rearing peacefully, look what a single man did without intervention
