You don't need to remind us of Nigeria shortcoming, every country has his own. coming out publicly to expose Nigeria Inadequacies shows that you are the one thinking with your anus. I won't say you are being emotional but you are really daft.

Nigeria did not stop anybody from bringing goods into the country there should use the port so that there can be tax accordingly is that too big difficult to ask for. follow due process and you won't get problem. Oga stop washing our public linen outside.

It's obvious that you the draft one. If your brain was intact, you would have seen that my post was not about border closure but about the fact that someone feels Nigeria can do without some countries and they will come begging because we have the so called size and population.

But I don't expect comprehension from a nitwit like you.

Well for your information. Buhari closed the borders to stave smugglers.
I'm a Nigerian and I'm not starving.
If you Beremx is starving then you must be a confirmed smuggler
you're not starving because you have. What of your fellow northerners who are massively hungry? You care less. People like you are the reason the north is impoverished because you hate to say things as they are.

The border closure is against illegal trade and I am quite sure the government is working on feasible solutions to that. What I don't understand is the animosity being thrown back and forth on this thread. Do you Ghanaians and other neighbouring countries want us to kill ourselves for you or let you ruin us because we want to be on good terms with you. Let's help each other, even Mexico made concessions for USA . Let's help each other biko.

Do you think Ghana have your time to be exporting rice to your country. We're having the same issue when government spends more than 1 billion dollars a year to import rice into our country for consumption. Do you realize we are the 2nd largest consumers, market and economy in West Africa and our consumption alone is a huge chunk on our foreign exchange. We have a population of 30 million and a GDP Purchasing power of almost 200 billion dollars. Did you see me telling you Nigeria exports goods worth 306 million dollars to Ghana in 2018 alone. Our exports to Nigeria is just 80 million dollars. Togo exploits us due to their free port just like Benin does to you.We have the same issues. Our exports to Nigeria is mostly Nigerian companies who relocated to Ghana and use the ECOWAS free trade route to export some of their goods to your market. We both loose if we start a trade war buh Nigeria loses badly. That's why your government have agreed with Ghana to open a temporary corridor for Ghanaian trucks to enter and leave Nigeria amidst the border closure .GUTA still refused for that and wants a ban of Nigerian goods and traders in Ghana. Our rice is even very different from yours and you will never find your type of rice in Ghana. Our rice cooks in just 20 minutes.

I prefer our rice. Ur rice that u use leather to cover to steam it until it cooks.

the goods like textiles and spare parts or cars that Nigerians import into Ghana from Nigeria
are they made in Nigeria or they come from China ?

yet Ghana is not closing it borders because we have an effective way to tax those products .

there is Togo right becide Ghana
they also have a free port

and Ghana hasn't even complained
You have to make yourself competitive and stop blaming other people.

Nigerians go to the market and decide to buy foreign rice over local ones
no one makes those choices for them.

Today, local rice in Ghana is a big thing because it is cheaper and well polished and taste better
so people buy it, it doesnt mean we dont buy foreign rice.

Nigerians and NG gvt awon toothpick importers shey na hear keep buying foreign and keep killing your own in fact buhari should close the border permanently

British council and other UK agencies are becoming aggressive to lure Nigerian students to studying at UK because attention is shifting to greener pastures like Australia, Canada and schegen countries. Of what gain is to study there and lay you off like trash after spending huge amount of pounds.

Population of Nigerian students in Ghana is high and if they decide to withdraw, it will affect your revenue to an extent.
it wont because
it will create space for other countries citizens to gain a sound Ghanaian education

anyway the price of cement is between 25- 30 cedis
no one can sell above that

The economy of Ghana does not rely on petty traders from Nigeria
That is why we can close those petty traders shops with our economy not even blinking an eye.

We closed 20 banks, 350 microfinance institutions and over 200 finance houses

our economic growth did not even blink to slow down
that is how resilient our economy is.
OK why are you crying now for border closure?

The trade unionist are just clowns. Two of their top ministers are in Nigeria begging almost anybody that is ready to listen to them and these union clowns are talking about banning made in Nigeria goods. They better not allow us rescind the decision to create a temporary corridor for Ghanaian goods.

Nigeria has not banned importation of goods from any country, so, why ban our products? When we say Nigeria is the giant of Africa, some of these tiny countries come here to argue with us. We closed our land borders for just some few weeks now and they are all crying. Even Ghana that has no land border with Nigeria is crying. Who is now their Daddy?
Am proud of you. If it were possible I will give you handshake from my phone

I thought they've been boasting now that they are better than Nigeria. Ordinary border, and everywhere is shaking. If they annoy us, we will just padlock the place and throw the key away. When Ghana locked just 400 Nigerian shops in a town in Kumasi alone, your government and trade unions were organizing protest at the ECOWAS office crying xenophobia and free trade buh you're here shouting Giant of Africa because you have unilaterally closed your borders to starve yourselves to death. GUTA had always hated you since Kwame Nkrumah and you have foolishly gave them a chance to eliminate you from Ghana. For your information millions of Nigerians live in Ghana and do trade of imports and exports. GUTA was the one who locked all your shops in Kumasi. Now tell me,Ghana exports goods worth just 80 million dollars to Nigeria for a country who exports 17 billion dollars worth of goods outside, less than 0.5% goes to Nigeria buh Nigeria exports goods worth 303 million dollars to Ghana in a year.If Ghana bans your goods, tell me who loses more. The minister is just a diplomat who knows how ugly it will be if Ghana retaliates so she's going diplomatic first to tell you to comply ECOWAS protocols .Warning to your country if you refuse her diplomatic settlement. Ghana never needs Nigeria.
There are options Mr. No Ghanian product was ban rather the land border was closed. The sea border is opened

Even in the villages, everyone cooks with LPG
unlike your poor country where LPG is not even affordable .

In the villages, Ghanaian households build their own toilets and bath in their houses to feel comfortable living aaaaaaaaat home
pit latrines stopped being a thing in the 80s

hope your country manages to change the bushy lives of it 100 million extremely poor citizens like Ghana have done.
where they dont have to result to open defecation or cook with tree logs.

100 dollars can buy you very little in the US
but when you bring it to both Nigeria and Ghana
it is big money, isnt it ?

that is how value is measured

if i bring 100 cedis to Abuja like ive done before, it is big money
because your country is so worthless and i can buy the entire Abuja.

Your 10K will do very little in Ghana
even electricity bill will finish your worthless 10K

Your 100 Ghana cedis can't get you a hotel in wuse... Abuja is too developed for one to compare with Accra.. Why do your MPs build public toilet as constituency project? That shows so many household don't have access to toilet in Accra.. Ghana can't compete economically with Rivers state.. Ghana that just have one functioning train running from Accra to tema...

Nigeria did not ban any country's produce, Nigeria only said if u want to trade use the sea port. I am even surprised Ghana is complaining.

The country that should complain that me self is even pitying is Niger republic, they are landlocked and can't export to our sea ports.

I even did some more research I found out that Niger republic is very poor, imagine being in the heart of the Sahara desert with no money and poverty everywhere.

Ghana is like they have a grudge towards Nigeria they have not even understood the notion behind the policy and they want to retaliate, not just retaliating they want to ban made in Nigeria goods... LoL

They just hate Nigerians for nothing.
