Problem with this team is that they do not respond with positive performances to shut down the critics. Evra labelling them babies would stand to be true if they cannot start delivering consistent performances and the part I liked most is where he said Xhaka is not captain material which the whole world knows except our coach.

If this Arsenal team has any iota of shame, they should simply just beep quiet and do their talking on the pitch. Indeed it seems Emery cannot manage big players as the ozil issue is just out of hand and making Xhaka captain is laughable.

They are babies, they only not need a new coach and captain.

Lol... The funny thing is that this is not the first time arsenal is being attacked by pundits and we see a positive reaction afterwards. Wenger is gone, but it seems as if Emery isn't so good at psyching plays too.
Also, I got to ask this question, why is he always bringing ceballos at halftime wen we're chasing a game? Did same against man u, and same ystdy. If he's good at chasing game, then why's he not good enough to start?

Where is Mesut Ozil?

It must be a question Arsenal boss Unai Emery is getting tired of answering. Or, sort of answering.

The German midfielder has made just one Premier League start for Arsenal this season and has now been left out of the Gunners' last four matchday squads.

On Monday, his absence prompted more questions, with Arsenal badly lacking any creativity as they fruitlessly tried to break down a solid Sheffield United defence.

In the end, the Blades won 1-0 while Arsenal slumped to another defeat on the road.

Sheffield United stun Arsenal to move into top 10

Asked by BBC Sport if Ozil was available, Gunners boss Unai Emery simply replied with: "He can help us, yes."

BBC Radio 5 Live summariser Chris Sutton, however, believes Emery should be more forthcoming.

"It would be nice if Unai Emery just came out and said and then we would know instead of us guessing," he said.

"Is it a lack of commitment? We know he's a quality player but do we think he's lost his guile? His awareness? His touch?

"Of course we don't - so what's the problem?"

That, it seems, is the question on many people's lips.

Why has he not played this season?
Since joining Arsenal six years ago, Ozil has missed 101 games for the Gunners but has only had one major injury in that time.

Most of his absences have been explained away by illness or minor niggles, while he missed Arsenal's season opener against Newcastle along with team-mate Sead Kolasinac because of security concerns after they were involved in an attempted car-jacking.

Kolasinac, however, has long since returned to the squad but Ozil has appeared and then disappeared, sometimes because of fitness, sometimes because Emery has felt other players have been more deserving of a chance.

Mesut Ozil & Sead Kolasinac 100% mentally ready - Emery
Arsenal? Emery? Ozil? Who is to blame?
Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie believes this is a situation Arsenal could and should have handled better.

"It's definitely mismanagement," he told BBC Radio 5 live.

"This is the problem these days in football, these bumper contracts players are getting and when they're not performing, it's coming straight to the headlines of how much money he earns and what he does.

"Whether Mesut Ozil is going to turn a corner - and I don't think he is - it just seems like there is a massive issue behind the scenes as to why he's not playing.

"On his day he's a world-class player but when you're earning that type of money, then you are going to come under scrutiny for earning that money and not playing.

Sutton, however, believes only Ozil himself can truly resolve the issue.

He said: "I don't care how much Mesut Ozil is paid, the main thing is how he's is performing on the pitch in an Arsenal shirt - and he's not.

"We aren't party to how Arsenal train or what's goes on but if Ozil was doing that well - and we know what a superb talent he is - Unai Emery would know what impact he would have on the team, so he would play him, because he wants to win games and improve.

"There must be something amiss and it looks Ozil will have to sort this situation out himself.

"Arsenal have either got to ship him out and just bite the bullet, or they've got to get him back playing in the side, but it's been down to their own doing and I feel they've caused their own problems."

Do Arsenal miss him?
The statistics would suggest so.

Since Ozil made his debut for the Gunners, no player has created more chances than him. In fact, no-one comes even close.

Premier League (since Ozil's debut)
Player Chances created
Mesut Ozil 522
Aaron Ramsey 272
Santi Cazorla 190
Olivier Giroud 183
Granit Xhaka 121

He has also been the club's top assist maker in three of their last six seasons, although admittedly did not feature in the top three of the list in the last campaign.

Premier League (since Ozil's debut)

Season Player Assists

2013-14 Mesut Ozil 9
2014-15 Sanit Cazorla 11
2015-16 Mesut Ozil 19
2016-17 Alexis Sanchez 10
2017-18 Mesut Ozil 8
2018-19 Alexandre Lacazette 8

Against Sheffield United, the influence of the midfield five of Nicolas Pepe, Granit Xhaka, Joe Willock, Matteo Guendouzi and Bukayo Saka paled in comparison to the Blades.

They managed two key passes between them compared to five for the Sheffield United midfield.

What does Ozil say?

Ozil has been quiet on the matter for a long time, but recently provided some insight into the situation he finds himself in.

Speaking to The Athletic, he said: "When I signed the new deal (in 2018) I thought about it very carefully.

"I didn't want to stay for just one or two more years, I wanted to commit and the club wanted me to do the same.

"You can go through difficult times, like this, but that is no reason to run away and I'm not going to. I'm here until at least 2021.

"Whenever people see me in the street I always say, 'This is my home'. I'm going nowhere."

I'll forever remember the 07/08 season boys, many wrote them off, that Henri is gone and Arsenal is dead, the boys are too young and inexperienced etc, but they shut them up with good display on the pitch, Injuries finished us that year,we could have won the league.

This current set only take photos, joke and look complacent in training ground, They've got no shame, Even the most performing Auba is not left out, he always look fulfilled and jokes too much, he's probably somewhere laughing and celebrating is Balon d' or nomination..

Emery's future will be decided at the end of the season, if he fails, I'm sure fans will give him the Wenger treatment and in no time will be axed.

He isn't doing well atm, and I don't think the situation will be that bad and require immediate sack before Dec..

The good thing is he isn't as arrogant and a god like Pa Wenger who decides and listens to no one, there is 65% chance he'll fix his first 11 and get things right, but if fails to to do so, he'll be gone by end of the season, no more 16 yrs patience of Pa Wenger era again.

For me. it is nonsensical to sack him now for Mourinho and Benitez like some clowns are moaning about.

You can not wriggle out of this with this explanation. The context you used the words “clowns” and “moaning” do not match your explanation, they infer different things.
I honestly struggle to understand why it is a problem for people to differ and I am speaking in general here. The sooner we all learn to respect contrasting opinions especially in the face of glaring situations the better.

I was waiting for this dumb analysis... You claim this league is hard but play defensive with Bournemouth Sheffield Utd at home away while Bournemouth Sheffield Utd attacks your team...

Pound for Pound... How many Bournemouth Sheffield Utd players are better than Arsenal players...?!!!

Yes we are 3rd 5th and we lost 1-0 that easily could have been 1-1 or 0-0... We should be grinding out results against the likes of Liverpool and Manchester city... Not fucking Bournemouth... Sheffield Utd... Not in a million years...

Called it... Accurate as Bleep!!!

I think he is successfully digging his grave. Common sense would make anyone pick his best team for PL and a second stringed side for Europa. His player rotation was absolutely disgusting to say the least, and definitely insulting to fans.

Keeping Ozil, Bellerin and Tierny out of PL action is asking for trouble in the dressing room. I just dey wait to see the outcome of this madness.

Grinding out football is making the best out of a bad situation, just as Liverpool did against Man United. This one is making the worst out of a good situation. Emery had his best squad available but chose to mess things up.

He always mess things up, we complained about this but you lots decided to tagged us haters
We said we don't know his style of play, we are hating on guendouzi
We said xhaka and guendouzi can't play together, we are hating on guendouzi
Bellerin and Tierney are back, we should wait till October
We manage to beat Bournemouth, we should be okay we grinded out result and one point below city.

We have always been the haters of this club just because we have different opinions,we better sack this man before it's too late.
You don't grind out results again small opposition, against Bournemouth they were the better side we fvcking packed the bus at the Emirates.
These players don't know why they are on the field, xhaka is clueless as always, guendouzi is forcing gameplay, ceballos doesn't even have an idea what's going on, auba is always feeding on scrap, the defence is Uber useless with a stupid keeper that doesn't know when to play from the back.

Please... "Told" them very well...

With Arsene Wenger...

Possession was like 70-30 in our favour,
Shots will be like 20-5 in our favour... And we will draw the match... That's when the term grinding out results came out from... Especially in the Bolton era... Those guys give us problem...

But when you concede possession to the opponents and have 2 shots on target in 90 minutes... That's never grinding out results... That's even worse than parking the bus... It's almost like Cowardly tactics...

Shebi we told u that day after that Bournemouth game ; You were defining grinding upandan . No name wey u no call us.

Anyways I’m happy you’ve seen the light. Emery is not taking his job serious .

All the defence put up by people who hold brief for him are not making sense again.

There’s an argument that he prefers to create chances from the right and the left flanks, but he presently has a fully fit right back and left back he’s keeping out of play for reasons only known to him.

Since last year I’ve noticed a worrisome habit of Emery starting a shaky team and once he concedes he introduce the players that should’ve started and then equalize and atimes go on to win the match. I mean it’s just like Klopp benching Alexander Arnold and Robertson, Sallah and now introducing them after conceding.!
