This is the depth to which religion has sunk in this country. Too many religious people but very few God fearing people. I know of at least 3 people that have had their phones stolen in church, my cousin's phone was stolen in Unilag mosque. Countless times we've seen cases of theft of offering money in church, it happens in mosques too o . My husband once told me how he caught a boy pulling N100 notes from the offering bowl and dipping into his pocket, he gave him a stern warning before handing him over to the Imam. I've also witnessed something similar in the small area mosque where I worship, this time a lady was being disgraced by the elderly women for dipping into the offering basket. How did we get so criminal minded? Churches and mosques are opening in almost every nook and cranny of the country yet the people are getting worse. I wonder what exactly these clerics are preaching.

2years ago, my phone was stolen inside first love assembly church owerri where I was invited for a youth program. Untill this day how and who stole that phone remains a mystery. Chai! Guy man go say God answered his prayer..

According to my original post, I gave the interval to be between the period of 10-15 years ago.
It could as well be 11, 12 or 13 years ago.

So stop arguing.

Religious masters dragged in the mud of sex scandals here and there.

Religion devaluation creeping gradually Into the society.
Reality dawning on people that there may not be any God beyond the heavens.
People now decide for themselves.

The good people apply that reality to better their lives and humanity, while the evil people take advantage of the same reality to perpetrate evil for their selfish intentions such as stealing which was once considered an abomination by the same people who once thought there was a God capable of striking them dead should that same evil be perpetrated in a suppose God's arena.

To justify these happenings and still ascribe relevance to Christianity just like the poster above me and the posters below me;

God did not restrict any of His creatures freedom of movement including Satan. Please read book of Job chapter 2:1ff. You will see the interesting dialogue between God and Satan

You don't need to call yourself a free thinker to realise what you said is REALITY... we all just need to wake to reality. Pls tell people around you that ve been chained in their mind about religious emptiness and deceits

It's a confused world down here and nothing is helping us understand him better and how he should be worshipped and he himself is not helping matters by giving us answers.

Down here, Africa and specifically Nigeria, failure in political developments (bad governance) has made people to fall victim of religious deceit, as many of these religious movements are catching in on this political failures to exploit the people
Religion or mode of worship towards this great architect of the universe is indeed very beneficial to man, and must not be underestimated. Hence, it's necessary and one must use one's head in order not to be manipulated by the several prayer houses we have today.
Being privileged to have studied astronomy (Physics and Astronomy - UNN), let me share a little of our universe; the sun with its planets known as the solar system, is one of many such systems making up our own galaxy - Milky way Galaxy. (Mind you, the sun, which is it's name, is just like one of those stars we see in the night sky. Their small sizes is as result of their very far distance to us. Some of them are by far bigger and hotter than our very sun)
So dear, our universe as a unit comprises of collection of different Galaxies, each moving farther away from the other.
Sorry dear let me stop here. It's a wide field and may not be able to give all.

My summary point is, there is God, the great architect of the universe. How we worship him is now the problem of humanity. Hence, let open our minds and use our heads. Nigerians are being deceived a lot in the name of religion.
