I applied for a job in a bank few weeks ago. The cv I attached during my application states that I am currently working with another bank, where as I resigned from my previous banking job about 3 months ago. Now with an engineering firm.

I went for the first stage of the screening process and passed. It was after this that I realized I sent in an older cv initially.
I have now been invited for the final process of the recruitment exercise, would this work against me?

Please advise needed.

I don't think you have a problem here...just inform them when you arrive for the interview.

if they invited you for the 1st interview and next stage too, they certainly have no problem whatsoever with the issue.... just let them know in your next visit, and bring the updated CV with you. et voila!

the updated version of your CV is better than the one they received.... so if they invited you for 1st and 2nd interview phase while thinking you were still working for another bank, then all is ok.

Don't say anything, they are ok with what you submitted.

You can only reveal it to them when the issue arises,banking job require you to be honest, that's one thing that is very Paramount in that industry.

He does not need to do that, if you're applying for a job you look at the required ànd your experience on the job and apply, it must not be current cv, if for example, he has bank experience, and he is presently a driver and want to go back to banking job did you expect him to apply with driver's CV? All work experience must not be on a CV, you edit it based on your experience and the job responsibility and other requirements so that it will flow, the next is to defend it when invited, because you actually have the experience. If you want to all your experience from secondary school to uni, and post uni experience, who would have time to read it when you have over 3000k CV to review.

No, I "did you expect him to apply with driver's CV" for a job in banking. But I would not expect him to lie that he was still working in a bank when he is a driver neither! Besides, what does he do when I ask him for references from his current employer? Is that when he finally confesses his current job is driving?

Someone already said "banking requires honesty", so if I were you, op, I'd confess when they call me for the second interview instead of waiting till they find out. If I don't get the job, I'll put it down as a lesson to be learned and a mistake not to be made again. There's after all other banks out there, and as someone said, the fact you've moved to engineering shows versatility, which might just make you an asset when you apply for your next bank job.

Please tell them as soon as possible and submit your updated CV. Most companies always do background check on prospective employees before they are offered the job. If they discover themselves, it may be a RED flag
