It's annoying seeing the US driving military vehicles around in sovereign state without consent, how insane is that. And they wonder why every rat and rabbit want nukes, because if you are weak, sheet like this will happen to you, it's that simple.
Flying your flag in someone else's territory, pure madness

Russia signs deal to supply Nigeria with 12 attack helicopters: RIA

(Reuters) - Russia and Nigeria have signed a deal for Moscow to supply 12 Mi-35 attack helicopters to Nigeria, a senior official at Russia's federal military-technical cooperation service said on Wednesday, the RIA news agency reported.

The contract was announced as Russia welcomed dozens of African heads of state to the southern Russian city of Sochi amid a push by Moscow for clout on the continent.

(This story corrects country to Nigeria, not Niger, in headline and paragraph 1 after RIA issued correction)

It has been confirmed, Nigeria not Niger would be getting 12 MI-35m attack helicopters.

Evidently Russian media dropped the ball on this one. Though it was said to be a contract between Russia and Niger https://reuters.com/article/us-russia-africa-niger-helicopters/russia-signs-deal-to-supply-niger-with-12-attack-helicopters-ria-idUSKBN1X220T

Worth noting that a dozen Mi-35s, even priced conservatively, would come to a cost of virtually the entire annual Nigerien defense budget.

For whatever reason, Russian media seems to screw up the Nigeria Mi-35 contract in big ways when Punchuk speaks on it. A few years back a routine comment on the deal was misconstrued to be a reference to a new deal for Su-30s for Nigeria

Answer: It was a misquote. He said Nigeria to receive 10 Mi-35Ms in 2018, not Su-30s. Sputnik misquoted. https://ria.ru/defense_safety/20170626/1497284437.html

The former minister of Defense during his tenure once said they where interested in MIGs and yak130.i wonder why it should be MI35M again.Or is the NAF trying to avoid buying from different sources.. I'm still studying their 10year strategic plan.30% Has been Achieved.(Increase number of pilots,Geospatial Unit, Adequate housing units for personnel, Adequate medical units) but in terms of the proposed platforms it's still sketchy.According to the plan NAF is to acquire Attack aircraft (Not Helo),Fighter jets, Gunships,Laison helicopters,Maritime attack helicopter, surveillance aircraft,Medium and Heavy transport aircraft (Both Helo and fixed wing)Drones and trainer.
But since the current CAS inception we have gotten.4 new gunships (8 remaining)1 crashed,10 super mushshak,12 super tucano (To be delivered) 2 new attack Agusta 109k(4 remaining 1 Aw139 for Laison missions)

Nigerian filmmakers are shooting a new action film.

The Nigerian army has loaned the film producers lots of military equipment including the Ezugwu MRAP, and different types of locally made APCs.

The Ezugwu is great...I'm proud of it... First it's ARA MRAP now it's Ezugwu MRAP.No more depending on foreign hardware. What we need now is modification of our own Guns..

The Mi-35M are ok, but we need a considerable lift capability. Buying more Mi-17 Transport helos would've been preferable. And we need better fixed wing fighter jets like the Su-27 or Mig-29SMT
