So today, i set out to work on uber because taxify refused to inspect my brother's Kia Rio, 2007 model, they said its small and has a low ground clearance, their words not mine.
I have uploaded every document on the uber platform but i haven't use it since i started e hailing last month with my Ford Mondeo aka Evil Spirit ,taxify was enough for me, so i added his vehicle to the platform with his vehicle inspection report done in January by the last driver .
Left Maryland around 7am and got a trip to Montgomery road, Yaba, then to Okota road, then another short trip to ilasamaja before a trip took me to mushin, then another to Conal road Yaba and another to Maryland.
Did about 5 short trips and headed home to eat and charge my phone.
We had a power cut, 20 minutes into the house and i decided to set destination trip to Lekki because i love driving on the island, mainland trips gets me apprehensive.
Long story short, destination trip didn't work out, had to settle for Deeper life, Gbagada. Dropped the rider and stayed 35 mins with no trip, went round Diya and two other streets, yet, no trip and i couldn't turn back home because of the heavy traffic i saw heading back towards Anthony-Oshodi expressway , so i blew empty to Ikoyi .
I have completed another 5 short annoying trips and my payment reads 5.900 naira. 10 fucking trips!
I don't think i have ever completed 10 trips on taxify when i was using The Ford Evil Spirit and i always gross between 8-9k on my 7th trip or so.
Elders, wey dey run uber hustle alone, abeg shay na like this e go dey be?
So you have ditched your American ford for Korean plastic

Bros mi, that one is not American kankan, the car na suicide attempt. The little money i made working on taxify was spent on repairs, in fact it got to a point that i had to borrow money from my ex who i haven't talk to in a year because i had no where else to run to.
Car stopped on 3rd mainland bridge last Saturday, had to push it to iyana oworo with the help of the 2 offline passengers i carried at Lekki phase 1 before it could start.
And concerning this Kia Rio, its not like I'm taking it up for the long time. I just want use am raise money pay the debt i incurred on that Evil Spirit Ford.

Request tip for another time: trust me there is always request in igando . People coming from Badagry / Ikotun prefer to order from igando for easy ride. And most times rides are going out of the suburb to like IKEJA and island. I know cos I still school in Lasu, and to get a trip.... I just zoom to Enyo filling station... never down more than 30minutes.

Maybe I’m just lucky sha..

Everywhere get request. U just got to know where to stay!

My name is Joseph Adekoya.

I'm an uber driver who is in need of a vehicle to drive for rental

I also have a Taxify account.

I reside on the mainland ikeja environs to be precise.

Are you in need of a driver to handle your car with care?

Have you had a bad experience with a driver?

Pls contact me and let have a quick discussion.

My contact number is: 08020660010 and my email joseph4dlord08@gmail.com

Check out my profile on uber platform for reference and I'm sure you'll give me a chance.

Thank you and God bless us all.

quote author=sehawale post=38820469]If you are UberPartner or Driver in Lagos, kindly share your experience here:

- Considering the unpredictable traffic situation in some parts of Lagos, is it lucrative?
- How much on the average do you make weekly, working from morning till evening daily excluding weekends?
- What are the challenges specific to Lagos with being a partner or driver with Uber?
- Would you recommend a friend to be a partner with Uber.
- Any other useful info...

I need this survey/shared experience because I have thought of being a partner with Uber. I have a driver that is assigned to my family. My family's daily itinerary is fixed and this makes my driver and my car idle from 8am to 8pm daily. Registering the car and the driver with Uber has been considered to roll extra bucks into the family's purse and increase my driver's take-home as he will get commission from money made from Uber, apart from the salary he is being paid presently.

Your comments will be appreciated!

See ehn, some riders are deliberately unfortunate , last month, some guy requested Uber to pick a babe from unilag to Olowora on 1.7x surge, normally I don’t even go to Olowora, na because of the surge I go. Immediately I dropped the babe at his house and ended trip, I just got notified, gate review 4K + went down to 2500- I’m likeWTF- I messaged UBER straight, they reversed the adjustment and I was just wondering - did the idiot not know there was a surge before requesting, I resisted to urge to text him and tell him he was a grade A fraud.

One hungry looking young woman on suite tried that shit with me, after telling me the routes to take, at the end of the trip the money was high (from Ikoyi to Lekki via alternative route)I did the same thing and Uber reversed my money instantly.

Criminals everywhere.

One drunk punk (with a bottle of Sprite mixed with some substance) took me from one estate off admiralty (NITEL) to abijo back to estate, at the end of the trip after delaying me with some oloshos he came and drop 1k, asked me to call him later for the balance. The bastard claimed he's davido's boy. Police (FSARS) even block us at jakande because of how he was doing with the oloshos inside the car.

When I told him I will not call him that he'll pay in his next trip, the guy come para, get liver come push me as I was peeing for gutter, tell me say if I no commot for area him dog go eat my carcass. After peeing about to enter my car he held my shirt and asked me to repeat what I said and I told him that Uber will pay me for the trip, while he refund Uber when paying for his next trip.

the bastard slap my back, I ask both Angel and demon for strength, as he was holding my shirt pushing me, with all my strength I gave him uppercut, the guy sumersulted and enter the gutter, the oloshos shouted in an unknown language, I zoom off, report to uber and they pay me with interest.

The most annoying thing is that he wasn't the one that booked the trip, the person that booked the trip switched off his phone when I tried reaching him.

This work needs some kinda madness!

What I did was constitutional, it's called SELF DEFENCE

See Section 64 of the Nigerian Penal Code. Under Section 60 (a) of the Nigerian Penal Code, every person has a right to defend his own body, and the body of any other person against any offence affecting the human body.

Seriously, I still wonder why the apps can't display the riders destination before accepting a trip.

That way cancellations will b minimal, you got 15 secs to decide whether you are going to a place or not.

Infact riders will have reduced wait time. Cos whoever accepts the trip is already aware of where he is going. So no need of cancellation after accepting.

And the e companies can now profile the destinations mostly avoided by drivers n place their ' bonuses' on such areas to drive up acceptance rates.

That way everybody wins : the company, the driver, the rider.

Good idea.
