Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by bellong: 10:08pm On Oct 28, 2019
For all students studying in Victoria State, as from today, you are no longer allowed to drive on your international licence beyond 6 months.

If you have lived in Victoria for up to 6 months, you are expected to convert your licence to a Victoria's State driver's licence. If you will continue to drive with your licence, when caught you will be treated as driving unlicensed.

Take note.

Your waec is good enough. They will ask for the transcript. Also, you may have to take other verification tests/exam depending on the institution.

Please for those who have gone through the GTE process, what can one use as a strong home tie to Nigeria? .

Speaking from experience, I'd say
1: Quality Job. Make sure to emphasize that there's a very meaningful employment waiting for you to just finish your program in Australia. If it's a graduate program, state in your SOP and also get your former/current employer to be ready with convincing response to inquiries like what your designation is in the company; whether your employment has been terminated or valid; what higher position you would be promoted to by the time you are done with your Australian program etc. Personally, I wrote extensively about the course I'm going to study in Australia; it's current trends in Nigeria, meaningful job opportunities in the field in Nigeria and how the particular program I'm going to study would enable me get the job. Research what policies (if any) that Nigerian government is putting in place "in favor" of your field and quote them.
Family is another good tie. However, people have been denied whose whole family members are here. I suppose they consider that the student's family can join them later in Australia. So put your strength behind the job part and any other aspects that show that the life you would have in Nigeria after acquiring that Australian qualification can be compared to what someone would also have in Australia.
My two cents. Good luck

Big congrats buddy.
Were u mandated by uni Tas to use an agent? Did u also just upload bank statement during visa application without being requested by CO? And it wasn’t it also needed during admission?

Hello my People,
I need a suggestion. I am based in Dubai. I have applied to study in Australia. Should i pay my fees through my Nigerian account or through the one in Dubai. Does paying fees from oversea accounts add any advantage to your application.

Wherever you paid your tuition from have nothing to do with your visa application. The CO just want to see your COE that would be issued to you by your school after the payment. It won’t be stated on it where your payment originated from.

there is no bank you use that is not ok as far as you fill in your details and the school details currently I will suggest you use a bank where you have someone that can follow up for you because most banks will have to send the payment to their head office in Lagos for verification before it’s been process which can take 24 - 48hours before the transfer is done. Yes 2 people can pay one tuition fee just make sure your details is entered correctly

Grant came in this morning for myself, my wife and my two kids: God has smiled on me and I just needed to lift people's spirit in the house. I will summarize my story at the end

Date of application: 11th August 2019
Documents submitted: PhD offer Letter and Scholarship, Multi-Family OSHC, BSC-MSc certificates and transcript, CoE, Statement of result from Macquarie University, Employment Letters, Study leave letter, Account statement, SOP, Marriage cert, Wifey and children Identity details, Medicals
Biometrics: 15th August 2019
Date of grant: 7th September 2019

I have been in australia for a while without family, applied for subsequent entrant and refused. Exactly one year later, having decided the PhD offer to take, I applied as student (PGR) and put my family as dependent. Lo and behold, the visa came in 26days. This can only be God, the speed is outrageous, madam has pilled her legs while praying and sowing heavy seeds with the allowie sent for her and the kids. My message is that. If you have family, do not be afraid to add them to your application.

The other part might be a bit bogus and dicey, these are my thoughts and would like to leave it open to the house to discuss. Due to recent upheaval in South africa, can we boycott that part where you are told to fill closest embassy and send to Australia straight up. I had overheard someone applying from Nigeria did it and no one raised an eyebrow. The bad belle with visa could be stemming from xenophobic influence, I would say. Who ready use matchette comot your head, na him nor go fit reject your visa for you and your family. If for any reason you are asked why you choose Australian embassy and not pretoria, REFER THEM TO XENOPHOBIC ATTACKS ON NIGERIANS. Hope I have not overstepped my boundaries with this one sha| We talk we die, we do not talk we die, let us talk and die

Dear Sir,

Please can I speak to you privately?

Thank you sir
