It uses a hybrid SIM slot. The right term is dedicated SD card slot not dual SIM standby.

The Redmi Note 8 has a dedicated SD card slot.

The 128Gb of the Note 8 Pro should be sufficient for day to day use.

No it won't work, it's a MiUI feature.Android one devices use Google stock messaging app.

This is not true. I and others have shared pic of having the update almost two weeks now and I'm not on any pilot or beta program. Got my second MIUI update on MIUI 11 two nights ago too. It comes when it comes. You can't conjour it..
