Oh! My God and these will have entered the market and those who are ignorant will just buy and get sick.

Let all the containers be buried immediately

Expired rice? That terminology is incorrect. Its usually 'Best before' BB. The items eg rice is in its best shape, taste and quality before the said date. Doesn't mean it has expired.

We should stop all this showmanship. Its Best before and not expired items.

People are hungry and yet we are shouting expired rice. Nigerians had been consuming ' 'best before' commodities from time immemorial. Its is very cheap to buy an item that is closer to its 'best before' date and the once that has past the date is almost free.

I wonder how/what has been happening to all items seized in past 2 months.

There are still lot of people in Nigeria going to bed on empty stomach tonight.

God help us.

The seized bags of rice are always expired but will always end up in the private warehouses of some custom officers. Na so!

If they would actually destroy these said decayed and expired rice, then fine. But the most likely scenario is that they simply wash, rebag and resell in the local market, especially since rice is so expensive now and festive period is approaching. Nigeria which way? sad sad

Can rice even expire without being visibly obvious?
Sometimes we have to question the real motive behind certain excuses.
We all know what expired rice look like; it either starts forming mold, stick together, became whitish or have too many dust particles.

All these expiration story is a bad name given to an innocent dog to kill.
With your very low IQ, I'm not surprised you can't afford to b by data to watch the short 1 minute video.

These custom people though,. This same rice was seized in 2016 due to non payment of custom Duty by the Agent, who declared the rice as yeast,.on behalf of the owners of the rice(Masters Energy Group) which was a huge negligence on the company's side,. It eventually led to company having Cash problems, which made it to restructure,. So Now in 2019, the same custom did a video, saying they intercepted the rice recently,. Which kind country be this ooo,. Please OP kindly verify source of your news before posting,. The rice expired in the custody of Nigerian Customs,. Its a fake news and Propaganda,. Please OP dont further kill people's rep

I don't believe that shit.
They seized them and left them in an unfavourable condition and the all spoiled.
Look at the pictures.
Somebody will boldly import expired rice when there are so many companies he can buy from at cheap price outside naija.

Nobody imports expired rice. Nigeria might be bad in some things, but I don't think it is bad to this point. It is the long delays in container clearing in the port and improper container handling and storage that will be likely cause if those bags of rice getting spoilt

The main reason people are going hungry in this country is because we import food rather than produce it ourselves. Nobody will be hungry if we change our importation mindset to growing and producing our own food. If the price of doing so is a few of us (since we are useless) to die, then so be it. The world is not for the weak.

So it will be considered friendly if they allow them sell the rice to consumers ba?

You have a point, that could be a posibility
On the other hand....
I don't trust Nigerian importers so much. They could buy already mouldy rice with the intention of washing it with Omo and repackaging it.
