According to the students of the school, Covenant University installed cameras in student classrooms. The students of the school says CGPA's are about to go lower after the school decides to install those cameras.

This is why private universities are called glorified secondary schools .

I heard in Madonna, people get permission to leave the school premises .

How is this a bad thing?
The cameras won't fabricate pictures and images, it's what the students and lecturers do that will be caught on camera. Do the right thing and it will be recorded do the wrong thing and it will be recorded. The problem is not the camera it's the people.

Nothing is wrong with having cameras in class rooms. It is a global standard and it tends to put the classroom's activities in a proper check.

People from one cheap polythecnic where cultism and oloshoism is a 3unit course would always call a private school a glorified secondary school, even students from "COLD ROOM" University of Nigeria would also complain

Real Universities all over the world mount CCTV everywhere so whats the big deal here, BAZE University even uses fingerprint scanner and time stamp for attendance in all classes

There’s nothing bad in having cameras in the class room there was a time during my undergraduate days my school also tried installing the cctv in class rooms Because Niqqas don devise plenty means to cheat during exams, there was a time a friend of mine used his Iwatch to cheat, so the rest of us with Iwatch were delayed after they seized our watches they banned us from bringing smartwatch to the exam hall, it’s a good thing it has nothing to do with being a glorified secondary school, and that Dude talking about Madonna student asking for permission (EXEAT)before leaving the school premises, that’s peculiar with almost every private uni including Bowen, CU, Landmark ati bebelo it’s just a simple protocol, if you no like the idea then simply leave the school

This is wrong. There should be cameras in hallways and general school areas, not inside the classrooms.

Next would be inside the student rooms.

CCTV should be deployed in our schools . It will be the first step to curtailing cult murders. Killers will be caught on camera. CCTV is about multiple things, security, process audit, compliance, internal investigations.

Cameras should not be in classrooms. It has so many disadvantages and affects learning negatively. World over, it has not been accepted yet.

Unilag installed CCTV cameras in classrooms in the faculty of engineering too, at least, that I've been. I really can't tell if they work though but many of them show the infrared light. The entire school is also under CCTV surveillance. Some underworld activities that used to go on at night among students many years back has reduced drastically.

I wish this could be done in all publi C universities in the country

Don't know if this newly installed, but Augustine University Ilara Epe has camera installed almost everywhere including all classroom

Smart move for an effective class free of harassment.

No holding hands even in class.. infact no talking to opposite sex..
