Dangote is helping the government get rid of polio
Dangote is helping the government get patrol vehicles for police
Dangote is helping the government create refineries for fertilizers and petrol
Dangote is still going to renovate stadium
Dangote is building roads to avoid paying some certain taxes

why do we have a government then.

Why can't FG renovate such a necessary and huge monument. .

Obasanjo but that govt just few years ago. . Look at it now. .

Renovation is not the issue, but maintainance. . Why can't the govt look for a facility maintainable company to manage these stadiums.

And give it to them as a contract. Our leaders are very terrible. Go to other countries. .

gistringgers:
The minister for youth and sports development, Sunday Dare, has stated that foremost Nigerian businessman, Aliko Dangote, is set to renovate the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

He made this known while fielding questions from journalists on Thursday, 7th November.
His words:

“Yes, Abuja is coming back up,” he said. “Already we have gotten Dangote, I can say that he has agreed to bring back the Abuja football pitch, the light and scoreboard. “Work will start in another one week or two weeks.

“And we will use the same model, we will adopt the pitch model for several of our stadia. At least, the three other big ones.

“We are looking at between now and March we should have four big stadia, foot scoreboard, FIFA scoreboard

“And I think given time, within a year this country should be ready to host virtually any FIFA soccer tournaments.”

Government is helping Dangote to make money. Dangote is spending a small percentage of the money on government so that the people will not revolt against Dangote and the government. Use your sense for once.

I frown at naming Abuja National stadium after MKO Abiola to immortalize Abiola and June 12, 1993.
I would have preferred national assembly complex named after MKO Abiola. More so, since we already have MKO Abiola stadium in Ogun State (I think in Abeokuta); Abuja national stadium should have been named after Sam Okwaraji who died on active service.
I would have suggested renaming National stadium Surulere, Lagos (Okwaraji's actual death bed) after him but owing to its proximity to Teslim Balogun stadium that located opposite it and conflict of interest between Lagos state owned stadium and national stadium. I opined that Abuja stadium should be used to immortalize Sam Okwaraji. August 12, 1989.
It is never a coincidence that the two dates fall on 12th. One is for political reason and the other for sports reason.
{NB: My personal opinion. No string attached}.

We should just make Dangote the president cause he seems to be doing what our govt cannot do..

Only him is doing the following.

Road construction
Fertilizer plant
Refinery
Working to Produce more gas for constant power supply
Eradicating polio
Creating jobs

And now renovating a stadium...#dangotefor2023

Lol that is not possible, he too like business grin

These public officials are simply stupid. They simply do not understand capitalism they claim to operate. Why not allow private companies adopt the stadiums and the names of the stadium would bear the companies names. That way funding is guaranteed for their maintenance so far they host events to get exposure for the companies.

yeah! It's not too much for him to do, we forget easily when the PDP administration gave Dangote the sole right to import rice into Nigeria, you forget so easily that the likes of ObJ and IBB etc camouflaged under Dangote and use alot of money to boost his business. It's not too bad if he coughs out some of those money. And note: for him to be doing all these willingly there must have been an agreement btw him and the government, else Efcc would have snooped their noses into some illegal money he got in the past that helped him become what he is.. It's a win win thing.
