Choi you don mention my favorite character also. CRAZY JANE. Hammer Head was my fave personality. Followed by that Love portion personality. And miss Penny, I think the one who stutters. They had some stupid funny names.

My next fave character was definitely Cliff Steele (Robot Man) with his unending FVCK!!!
CRAZY JANE multiple personality made me love her more.

Genesys was convoluted and boring. There was action but they just turned John Connor into nonsense 5.5/10

Dark Fate was better. The action was superb. But the plot felt repetitive as we have seen the whole "terminator comes from the future to kill innocent kid" routine. 6.5/10

The King

Another beautiful display of another English folktale, I Just love the story of the Protagonist.
Just 30mins in and its already 6/10 rating for me.
It has knocked off the recent King Arthur (with David Beckham's cameo appearance) as the my best English folktale movie.

The way these english guys make use of their word placements in sentences gives me joy, something missing in large proportions in american movies.
The twist at the end reminds me why there say "the devil is in the details".
And wtf - Brad Pitt was ok to be just a producer?

8/10

Thanks to TFPDL is got the subtitle version where I never missed the word placements
The King

Part 1 to 3 was the bomb.

Part 4 was just shit.

That's why I asked for reviews for part 5 and 6.

Hichki (2018) 7.5/10

Rani Mukherji's comeback after her 4-year hiatus is a reminder of why she's a trendsetter in Bollywood. Playing an teacher with severe Tourette's syndrome, she took on a new challenge here and, dare I say, did marvelously as usual. Never missing a beat. It was almost as if she never went on a long break.
The actors who play her father and the antagonistic teacher also did great. They made it easy to be angry at their characters while sympathising with Naina (Rani Mukherji).

I haven't read Brad Cohen's book, so I can't say how great or accurate of an adaptation it is. But the story was very interesting and engaging. The supporting cast did well. The pacing was good, I rarely found myself checking the time. I was that engrossed.

The music was good, even though the movie lacked a musical spectacle that I enjoy and look forward to in Bollywood movies. The soundtrack blended well and accentuated the scenes.

Even though, it feels a bit cliché and there are a few cheesy scenes in there, it's an endearing and heartfelt story. You've still got it, Rani.

Pic 1: I legit teared up during this scene. Can't explain why. Maybe the music, maybe the mood, but it got to me.
Pic 2: We're going to India. My cousin's in love. grin grin

Your rating and review is so on point. That first picture really gave me teary eyes also, every element in that scene was perfectly put together to make sure the viewers(with a heart) shed a tear. And I kinda fancied the flick to bits because it didn't follow the conventional excessive singing & dancing Indian movies are know for.

I'm actually one of the people that do enjoy those spectacular musical numbers and I did miss it in this movie. There were a couple of places I was waiting for them to break out in song and I was a tad disappointed that they didn't.

Joker...7.5/10
Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller

According to sociology, an action is meaningful to those alone who perform such act, the origin story of the joker wasn't only impeccably told, but it also gave the viewers an insight as to what really made the Joker snap & transmute to what he's today. If Joaquin Phoneix doesn't get an Oscar for his performance here, then the Oscars has truly lost it relevance. Controversies aside, he truly deserves an Oscar for the brilliance of his scenography & performance. Lastly, the acting, directing, music and cinematography were very remarkable. If you're a fan of heavy CGI, all action and little or no story, then don't bother with this one, cause it'll surely end in cussing.

I like the fact it has almost no CGI for a DC movie and really focus on the story telling... Not all what I was expecting.. .Joaquin Phoenix really gave himself to that character

I smell a sequel in works.

If Joaquin phoenix doesn't get an Oscar we riots..

Lolz, fair enough, different strokes for different folks then. The incessant singing & dancing was what made me develop a strong aversion for Indian movies. A typical Indian movie goes thus;
Boy likes girl,
Girl plays hard to get,
Boy see girl at the market place & tries to woo girl by singing. As if that's not enough, the whole traders in market, as in people way the whole thing no concern, would abandon their wares & join in the singing & dancing, at the end of the celebration in the market place, girl falls for boy, the rest is history.

That there is method acting. The dude simply went to extreme lengths to portray the Joker character. His loss of weight was terrifying AF, it reminds me of Christian Bale in The Machinist.

I so much admire how well they handled Arthur's transition from an individual with psychological disorder, who doesn't understand the meaning of his existence, to a ruthless serial killer. It's really amazing.
