Forget the event that led to his arrest. He has been granted bail, why is he still in DSS custody. It's Sowore today, it could be you tomorrow.

God Bless you for shutting up the insensitive guy that pulled up irrelevant cases. It's Sowore today, it could be anybody tomorrow. Why should a Govt agency be against the rule of law. Let's forget the event that led to his arrest. He has been granted bail and he has met his bail conditions, then free him.

Sorry Bro, National Security is not greater than the rule of law. Buhari said this sometimes last year and many lawyers corrected him. Push your national security breach pieces of evidence to the court and prove to the judge beyond a reasonable doubt so that bail will not be approved cos once the Judge approves bail and the conditions are met, the defendant must be released

I do not support Sowore, one bit. I think he should be held accountable for being a key part of the bridge foisted this proven despotic regime on Nigeria due to his hate of GEJ and what GEJ represented. His Sahara Reporters was an efficient Buhari/El Rufai/APC campaign tool.?Accountability is important. I am sure he would agree with me.

However, regardless of the individual, I am objective enough to find inaccuracies and lies reprehensible- hence my response to the fellow that alleged that WaPo kept quiet on Khashoggi. That is a blatant lie as Khashoggi was a WaPo associate staff. They have written countless articles for Khashoggi, unlike them.

I am also a believer in the rule of law and despite my belief that accountability is supreme in life, the rule of law is sacrosanct. As the courts have asked that he be released, I will support any move to prevail on the despotic regime he foisted on Nigerians to release him.

sad

Looking at Sowore's antecedents, I know Sowore means well. The points he raised for the revolution bears witness to this.

Still he made some great blunders.

1. He should not have rushed the plan of a revolution. The only planned revolution that could have changed things would be not less than a million man strong. Not some few youths easily dispersed by rubber bullets and tear gas.

2. He should not have contested for any political office. He didn't realize that you can't be a politician and also an activist trying to change the political terrain.

3. He should NEVER have met or associated with Nnamdi Kanu, the known fugitive and rabble rouser.

Those were Sowore's blunders.

Also, it's difficult to fight for Nigerians. They will insult you and persecute you. They have fallen in love with their tormentors.

Fighting their tormentors is like fighting them.

Just leave them in peace to soak garri with their pains and sufferings.
Your last sentences caught my attention. I hope Sowore comes out from this unhurt, while finally realizing that Nigeria and Nigerians are not worth fighting for.

Buhari till Buhari dies.
Goodluck Jonathan was insulted, hounded, harassed and even intimidated but no journalist was arrested or even refused bail under his regime
People like Sowore and Ibadan media outfit were flexing their muscle pen, now the chicken has come to roost.
Try get sense abeg and also educate yourself as well. Do your research and stop writing rubbish online. Without Sowore and Sahara Reporters, most likely Jonathan wouldn’t have been sworn in as interim President.

What are you talking sir? So you dont know the journalist killed by the Saudis was a reporter of this same newspaper? That the Saudis tried to destroy the owner of this newspaper (Jeff Bezos).

Get your facts right.

They did, you plank. In fact, Khasshogi worked for this same magazine. You're as dumb as Buhari, but I doubt it, Buhari is far too dumb.

That is reserved for hardened criminals of foreign countries arrested in foreign lands.

Their own citizens don't go off the grid. They are taken to court.

Stop proving KANU right. Nigeria is not a zoo.

I think Washington Post should write more of Trump's madness and let us sort ourselves out by ourselves.
Re: Sowore: Washington Post Condemns Buhari Over Detention by Yoighaman(m): 10:47pm On Nov 12, 2019
People should please stop this nonsense of saying Sowore supported Buhari...and so? He did because that was the right thing to do at the time. I voted for this Buhari all the times he contested so I can be categorized with Sowore but we all make mistakes and learn from them.

This President is flaunting court orders, do you realize what that implies? The judiciary is the last hope of the common man and here is someone doing it with impunity. Imagine yourself in prison and the court grants you bail and some folk somewhere who thinks he is above the law deems it fit to overrule court orders.

The quest to ensure Sowore's release without prejudice means well for our democracy, please let us protect the only voice we have which is freedom of expression as enshrined in our constitution, freedom of expression in a peaceful protest is allowed anywhere in the world, why should Nigeria's case be different?

Please let's leave the messenger and stick with the message, you never can tell what tomorrow holds for any of us, we can find ourselves in this kind of situation and if we condone it, it just might boomerang, Sowore might not have realized this fact but we who are free should.
