You know it doesn't mean we're of the same generation. Someone came up with it. I did, bro. cool

I also have another strategy for 12 multiplication.

It isn't classified as a discovery, it's more of a strategy which most Mathematicians seem to employ.
so which generation are u ...isaac newton or Charles Darwin...just curios

Could you please go back and write that stuff with simple English?

Youre a maths teacher and you dont know how to explain something to a layman or what? So how do you teach the kids

How exactly are we supposed to grab that amalgamation that you wrote?

Not new... I also discovered a formula at age 7. angry

Anything multiplied by 11.... See below.

Example.... 43*11 = 4[4+3]3 = 473; 24*11 = 2[2+4]4 = 264.

Any question? angry

my latest discovery about your formula

Example..... i. 37*11 = 3[3+7]7 = 407 (3+7=10 add 1 to the first number {3+1=4})
ii. 47*11 = 4[4+7]7 = 517 (4+7=11 add 1 to the first number {4+1=5})

He tried, I think these numbers were specially selected. Oya, let him divide 123 by 7 na
it is a test for divisibility by 7

12+3*5=27
2+7*5=37
27 and 37 are not multiples of 7 7, so 123 is not divisible by 7. simple

It's not really a formula, it's more of a conjecture, just like collatz conjecture. It's more befitting calling it the Chika's conjecture. That sounds more proper and also give his work more popularity. Congrats to Chika.
To give more popularity and value to Chika's discovery, a competition can be put out to professionals all over the world, with a reward for anyone who could find any integer which doesn't follow the conjecture.

Having discovered different conjectures personally in the past, I can say Mathematics is the language of the universe.
All things in life are based on mathematical scales and ratios. The shape of flowers, sizes, radius, scale of the body etc

The Golden ratio, Fibonacci numbers are all cool mathematical discoveries that anyone can measure out and confirm the authenticity on their bodies.

Great response. His method is already on Wikipedia though. What baffles me is that he wasn't asked to show his proof. Which makes it essentially a trial and error method.

The general concept was established on this Wikipedia article https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divisibility_rule#Divisibility_by_7.

The logic behind his method(which wasn't mentioned) relied on multiplying any number of the form 10a+b by 5, where a and be can be any whole number. One obtains 50a +5b, this can be rewritten as (49+1)a+5b= 49a+(a+5b).

Hence if a+5b is a multiple of 7, 10a+b must also be a multiple of 7.
