Our dependency rate on other countries products is extremely high, counterproductive and unhealthy.

It is quite funny to hear these people say neighbouring countries are flooding Nigeria with contraband when the agencies that are concerned with security and protection of borders engage in bribery and corruption.Who knows the house better than the owner of the house?

In theory a temporary border closure would help Nigeria's economy but in practice we get the opposite result. Our naira is programmed for devaluation next year and it would make things more expensive for everyone (like it has always done)

Now the government pretends to want to boost local industries to a sustainable level while in reality it is dangote a select few investors and should benefit from this policy.

If you and a group of friends gather resources to establish yourselves in, let's say exportation of Shea butter, you will understand the insincerity of this admin and the NCS.

It should not discourage us from trying, the more you work towards your goal, the more likely you are to find a sustainable solution.

FeedMeNews:
Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai has backed the Federal Government’s decision to close Nigeria’s land borders.

El-Rufai was a special guest at the graduation of Senior Course Three of the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja on Friday, November 15th said it is unfair for smaller countries to be sabotaging a big country like Nigeria.

He said the step taken was commendable. He explained that Nigeria like any other country likes to trade with other countries but added that there must be fairness. The Governor noted that closure of the borders should be sustained until there were established deals that covered every country.

“The partial closure of borders is highly commendable. Nigeria is the largest country in West Africa and the continent and it is clear that our neighbours are using our openness and brotherhood to trade, to exploit us.

“I fully support and subscribe to the closure of borders and we should sustain it for as long as possible. We need to do this for our country to have a fair deal and for our manufacturers to be protected. All those talking about free trade or preaching about it today closed their borders for centuries and decades ago.

“Nigeria must grow its internal capacity, we will not do so if we allow our neighbours to use the porosity of our borders to sabotage our economy,’’ he explained.

Governor El Rufai and other of his compatriots are busy shipping their British made rice under diplomatic cover in a chop and clean mouth strategies.

But outwardly they preach the patriotism and nation building sermons.

Whether he enrolled his son in a private school does not change his caliphate ideologies.

The federal government should open the border there is no need to shut it.

Those growing locally produced rice should step up their research and make their rice quality stand up to the foreign grown rice.

If the Nigeria grown rice meet international standard it will certainly sell itself provided it is affordable.

GBAM. And this counterproductive activities had been allowed to fester for far too long that the neighboring countries now see smuggling and dumping all sorts of things into Nigeria as Normal and their Birthright!

Hmmmm na so I decide to buy our local rice yesterday, after cooking it, the rice tasted somehow I couldn't understand

Meanwhile, HP Wireless 2630 4-in-1 Printer is available for sales @ 10k, working perfectly, check my signature for contact.
Same local rice I've been eating even before the border closure?
