Someone that has stated he has his sights on Yekini's goals record and hopes to leave his marks as one of the greats of the game. Just watch him storm his way to that point and beyond.

I watched some clips of Rashidi Yekini last week. O my, Yekini was a gift to us from the soccer gods.

It is a great thing for Osimhen to set his eyes on such a high mark as Rashidi's. The boy has grit.

Own goals like that happen.. However, I think we need more competition in defense. Ajayi for example was guilty of some fouls that would have cost us dearly against very strong sides

We have competition...Ekong, Omeruo, Ajayi, Awaziem

Osimhen is good no doubt but the unreasonable hype and comparisons is why I don't follow proceedings here. Naso una hype Iheanacho sotey he no see call up again.

Every Nigerian striker interviewed had always aimed to surpass yekinis record...none couldn't, so its a normal saying, but I hope it will come to reality.. We need dt goal machine in our team.its high time dt record get broken

Martins and yakubu could av done dt easily but dem fumble big time with d national team cool

Musa's invitation came too early. Let the guy recover and be back to top form first. The likes of Olayinka, Ejuke, Dennis are in top form and should be giving a fair chance now.

During the Keshi, Siasia and Oliseh eras, we struggled to beat minnows away. Rohr has made qualification easy.

Although I never saw the best of Yekini live as I met him as a toddler during the 1998 WC (obviously I missed out on his best years for us), I have to admit that the clips and videos I saw of that man was something else. "Yeking" as I called him afterwards from my teens was truly special.

Hopefully Osimhen keeps his eyes on the ball and even surpasses him.
