A civil tight activist and the founder, Women For Change Initiative and Equity, Lady Jane Ogbauta has described Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia state as dead, saying women must do something to put the government of the state on its toes.

Ogbauta who had recently led a protest in Aba comprising women from various parts of Abia said no amount of Intimidation can deter her and other women.

In a chat with ABN TV on Sunday, she vowed to mobilise no fewer than 10,000 women after the expiration of the 100 she gave the Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu to a street protest in Aba.

The activist stated that the protest was as a result of worsening situation of infrastructure in Aba especially roads, saying if nothing is done between and this time next year, things could deteriorate further.

"What motivated that protest was that one of my women died July this year. She was in labour so by the time they would bring her out where she lives in Ngwa road, she was already bleeding and later gave up.

"There is no road in Aba. Ohanku Road, there is no road, Ngwa Road, there is no road, Obohia Road, there is no road, Port Harcourt Road, Faulks Road even the one that leads to Teaching Hospital, that one is death trap. There is no road there" she declared.

Ogbauta while admitting to have supported APC in the last election in the state denied allegations that she and her group are being sponsored to cause disability in the state.

While insisting that women are being affected more in the deteriorating state of infrastructure in the state, she dared Ikpeazu and Abia government to wait for the expiration of the 100 days ultimatum she had earlier issued.

If they are voted out tomorrow, some people will call it rigging even when it is obvious that the party was voted out because of failure. Pdp does not deserve Abia state and APC doesnot deserve Kogi state.

Then ask them who vote Okezie Ikpeazu they will begin to stammer..... but na still them vote him back to power.

I hope somebody will bring this result to the attention of Ikpeazu, the voting pattern here shows that even many people from SE see him as an under performer (contrary to the belief that Igbos will defend their own who has failed), Ikpeazu is becoming an embarrassment to hardworking Igbos who abhor mediocrity.
Bayelsans have shown Dickson that failure will not be rewarded irrespective of political party affiliation, unfortunately for Kogi they were not allowed to do the same to Bello due to overriding forces placed against them.

100% correct, I'm surprised the way people thinks, especially youth.
They are fixated about party rather than individual performance, the cast down somebody who's performance is far better than their loved party and Praise mediocrity performance of their beloved party.
They talk about how Osun did not pay six month half salaries while the kept quiet about how somebody in Abia is also owning salaries and refused to embacked on infrastructures.

They criticised government policy that could help create employment instead of taking advantage of it, because they don't like the government or the person that created the policy.

Nigerian youth are the most useless, visionless, educated yet illiterate and foolish set of human being allover the world.

I plied the road a week ago, I was aghast and flabbergasted having erroneously thought the the roads in the south east were relatively better.

I think Aba, infact Abia, has the worst road in the whole of the federation. A state were the government has failed its people. Aba that is small china can't even boast of a good road. Place be looking like where they fought war. Tueh!
