Who’s Glory Ossie? I feel like I live in a cave.

Anyway I always tell folks no two homes are alike. Do what works for you as long as everyone is happy. No rigid rules as far as I’m concerned.

But folks want to be told what do and how to lives their lives.
I did not know her either till my friend told me the story and I read her up.

So she was 'independent' successful single woman who told ladies that they could do without a man bla bla bla.

She told them not to take trash, or compromise bla bla bla

Mwanwhile, madam was secretly married to her business partner.

She seemed to have built an image as one of these popular women speakers like Invictus kind of thingy.

Lol. Okay

The one that broke up with her BF was definitely not happy in the relationship to begin with.
If she was happy, an internet person’s opinion won’t matter to her.

What if you need her presence for emotional support? wink
It's rare to see one that will offer such they mostly tend to contest for love and attention from their son and the DIL is mostly the villain trying to take her child away but if she's mature enough to offer emotional support of course I will love to have her over often.

Well how many MiLs have you had? It’s just another baseless statistics and fear mongering.

But in a situation where all that drama doesn’t apply, I guess my point was that an old MIL who can’t do chores can still be desirable company based on other factors. In that case, you might need her presence.

Old moms and MIL aren’t only good for chores.

There are so many people like this. And ladies will listen to them and start living their lives that way not knowing she's a scam.

My colleague just gisted me today of a friend that almost ruined her marriage because of feminist advice from her friends. And so she refused to wash her husband's plates when he finished eating. She used to tell him to go wash his plate and a whole lot of other things.

Long story short, an older and wiser woman advised her, she dropped those friends and things changed at home. The truth is that most of those advisers do the opposite of what they say you should do.

Don’t be sucked into the trap. Feminist advice is always good advice. Unless it’s not feminist advice.

If a woman gives you bad advice, it doesn’t mean it’s feminist advice. That’s what folks who dislike gender equality want you to believe.

.

She was given the women liberation advice. Advice that would only incite rebellion and strong headedness in her husband, making her life difficult.

There are ways to get a husband to do things for his wife, bend to her will, etc. Being stubborn is not part of iy.

Well I don’t know the specifics of this case. It’s almost fourth hand knowledge seeing as it’s your colleague’s friend.

Unless your colleague’s friend was in an unhealthy or abusive marriage, there’s no feminist advice that can break it.My point is that feminists are not the boogeymen

But I’m glad she became an adult and took responsibility for her own life and decisions.

You’re right about the bold. And that’s really applicable to any kind of human relationship.

I have noticed this new trend of “an advice is bad because the person dishing it isn’t eating it.” A good advice is a good advice. Steve Harvey’s relationship was a mess but his relationship book became a bestseller. Apparently those that bought it saw value in it. Some doctors smoke. We have good divorced marriage therapists. Some abused women will come online to tell another abused woman to leave her marriage, is it a bad advice because the abused woman giving the advice refuses to leave her own marriage? If you are foolish (not you) enough to apply an advice that doesn’t benefit you then you deserve the negative outcome.

Don’t mind them. They’ve retired “Linda Ikeji” and they’ve taken up another supposed feminist hypocrite. Glory’s shtick was that of a financially successful
CEO that is a feminist. She never revealed her private life and she never claimed to be single. However, because people don’t think it’s possible for a feminist to be a successful married woman, some people decided to cry foul.

The irony, the real hypocrisy that they should’ve focused on was that she was probably not that successful, the businesses she ran with her husband were exposed as fraud, allegedly.

From what I’ve seen that’s true. I’ve been called a hypocrite because I’m a feminist who likes to cook for my family . But what can you say when folks INTENTIONALLY decide to misunderstand.

@bold shocked shocked Now that part is worth talking about.
Have they been arrested for fraud?

Arrested? There wasn’t even an investigation! It was their former employees that came online to claim the couple scam their clients and treat their employees like sh!t. However, Twitter NG focused on the wrong thing and didn’t even agitate for an investigation. It’s still business as usual for them.

No case of abuse. Basically they made her understand that they both have equal rights and he should clear his plates and go wash them himself.

That particular "little" issue made their marriage hang on a thread. Funny enough, he never reported her to a single person but his attitude towards her changed. Her Pastor's wife had to tell her to try washing his plates for 3weeks and see what happens.

And my colleague told me that within two weeks, her car that had been giving her issues that the guy pretended not to notice was replaced by him. Things picked up.

It's a different case when someone is telling you not to wash your husband's plates when he eats but tell him to pack it and go wash it himself. Meanwhile, they themselves wash their husband's plates.

Or a woman encourages another to leave her the house at the slightest disagreement but meanwhile she tries to reconcile with her own husband and stays.

That's the kind of thing I mean. Why advise someone to do what you cannot do?

I am not talking about when someone advises her friend to study hard and excel meanwhile she herself fails.

These are two different things

Only someone with an undiagnosed manifestation of the Dunning-Kruger effect would type, read, and believe this off-point load of steamy crap made any sense. cheesy

I have no doubt that you spend most of your time living inside your head & conversing with yourself to actually believe any of the misinformation you type so confidently.

Dunning-Kruger is a damn bítch.

At topic,
All hands must be on deck because I no kuku get housemaid. If you can’t help me cook or clean, then you must help care for kids. Everyone helps out as much as they can anyway. Really, a mother in-law should not go to her sons house and become a child. There doesn’t have to be a designated chore, but she should help when she’s asked to and should volunteer to ease burden or leave the couple alone to fight their battles. Kids are not easy.

My SIL used my own mum well well when she went to visit and, all we said was sorry when she reported. She cannot go there and be forming madam when a new baby just arrived, and the new mum needs help tongue. Plus new mums their wahala too much, they like everything perfect grin. My brother had even travelled for a while, so imagine the stress the new mum was under. It is sha her grand child so we didn’t side her at all. My mama work taya, she ran away cheesy grin. Till today she complains about all the work she had to do, even to my SIL and we all laugh it off.

Another brother has been anxious for her to visit, she is not mentioning that ones house in all her travel plans o! My mama like enjoyment though grin

It all depends on the family though. If they are close then mama cannot escape with going to anybody’s house and becoming a liability. My SIL’s are close to their SILs. So, none of her reporting worked. grin. As we sef, we know as e de go. She helps me wash plate in my house, why can’t she wash in my brother’s house. Are both of us not her kids?
