National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole

Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon Philip Shuaibu, has replied comments credited to former Governor Adams Oshiomhole that he (Shaibu) betrayed him.

Shuaibu said he is only following the path of what Oshiomhole taught him politically.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Musa Ebomhiana, Shuaibu said he stood by Oshiomhole’s tenets of “No more godfatherism and Let the people lead”.

He stated that as a good son of Oshiomhole’s politics, he is following the path of a good father.

Shuaibu stated that Oshiomhole is a respected leader and father he could not have betrayed.

He also denied allegations that the party leaders in Estako West that signed the vote of no confidence against Oshiomhole were threatened to do so.

“The Deputy Governor is a gentleman. He could not have threatened or coerced anybody to sign any letter.

“Those people that signed it are matured men and women that do not feed from the table of the DG,” he added.

Shaibu and his oga go soon cry! Any ardent follower of recent happenings in Edo would have known that the infighting there is not about Oshiomole trying to usurp the Governor. Rather,it is about the governor arrogantly sidelining those who worked for his emergence in the scheme of things. It remains to be seen how he hopes to defeat Ize-iyamu in a DIRECT primary election under the watch of the same Oshiomole he has been despising.

Godfatherism does not survive in the SESS region, we've seen it fail in Imo, Bayelsa. It will fail in Edo.
